To me it’s not even that they are ineffective, they are complicit.

They don’t view him as the enemy, they view us as the enemy, just as he does.

I have no doubt in my mind that they want the internet regulated by some entity outside of themselves, because they don’t have the guts to do it themselves, and they would be sued over 1st Amendment concerns, and they would likely lose.

We don’t have to agree with Ted’s decisions but he’s fighting for freedom here and should get all our support.

Yeah if the internet is neutered no one will be happier than Mitch McConnell and John McCain.

I am still unclear what the threat is here? Right now no one has the power to censor I would assume except broadband providers if they chose to or the FCC if it ever came out with a ruling.

This is about control of DNS. Back in the nineties, a couple of guys including Denninger were running alternate DNS root servers. Be prepared to start using something like that, hosted in the US. I believe the worst thing that will happen from the stupid-ass giveaway will be fragmentation of the excellent invention of DNS that came from our universities and military.

The change should not affect routing.

I hope I am clear.

Also, unless registration of top level domains is fscked with or deleted, something like .US would still be rooted in the US. So expect registrations there and other US-hosted TLDs to increase.

ORG and NET may be lost, IMO.

Why would I do that?

I don’t care about Ted Cruz. He doesn’t make any difference or mean anything to me at all.

“Congress Can and MUST Save the NATION from Obama...”

Headline slightly redacted, better to reflect reality.

Sorry, Pamela, but it hasn’t worked so far.
