Miss Arkansas Savvy Shields won the Miss America pageant Sunday night in Atlantic City.
She topped a field of 52 contestants to win the crown and the title of Miss America 2017, succeeding the outgoing Miss America Betty Cantrell.
Shields performed a jazz dance to a song from the TV show "Smash," for which she won a preliminary competition earlier in the week.
During the onstage interview portion of the competition, she was asked what she thought of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, one of several political questions asked of the contestants. "Both of the contestants have done a good job, but they also need to watch what they're doing," she said.

Maybe the people in charge of the pageant understand that we are tired of people getting attention and getting ahead just because they’re LGBT Or some other politically correct thing.
Although if she was as Pretty as the others, she probably would have made the top 10 at least..

Well I got a bit of snark on this issue.
First, as soon as she began dancing I immediately rolled my eyes. Free form dancing, the “talent” of the talent-less.
Second, I really wonder what were her parents thinking when they named her? Savvy?
Her answer to politics was canned. Not bad, but prepared in advance, says nothing. Not that I think that Miss Americas should be getting involved in politics, there’s always a question or two.
It seems she is religious and that’s a good thing.
But mostly I consider Savvy Shields mediocre.

It doesn’t even look like a bikini. It looks like a bra and panties.
Well, I’m glad a Christian girl won. I thought for sure the lesbian would win due to political correctness.
Savvy is a nickname for Savannah , I had to know.
Asking political questions for any kind of popularity contest is a low blow. If the contestant is dumb enough to actually choose a side she is guaranteed to alienate half the audience and judges.
Ham hocks and greens, right there.
I guess anorexia is passé.
