President Obama and his family took advantage of 88 degree temperatures and sunny skies on Sunday to go for a hike in the Prince William Forest Park in Virginia.
The nature walk comes a few days after the National Park Service celebrated its 100-year anniversary on Thursday.
Obama marked the centennial last week by designating a new national monument in Maine’s north woods, protecting 87,500 acres, including the East Branch of the Penobscot River.

Harry Yount—recognized as the first NPS ranger with an annual award. As a Confederate captive and wounded was marched 90 miles in the snow in his bare feet and held an outside area of the Judge Parker Courthouse grounds for 28 days until exchanged. No cheesy walk for him. Yount believed that “it was a pity to kill off the buffaloes, which were here in immense numbers, but it was the only way to get rid of the Indians, as the buffalo were their main source of subsistence.”

Did they stop to pay more ransom to anyone or to release terrorists? Maybe to rip up a copy of the Constitution or walk over the American flag?
