An overprotective cat has unleashed furry fury on seven unsuspecting pitbulls out for a walk.

The 16-year-old pet named Baby attacked the feisty dogs as they strolled past the front of the cat's home on Monday in British Columbia, Canada.

Betty Jean Thompson, who owns the stereotype-breaking scratcher, said she tried to warn the walkers not to bring their dogs too close.

I’ve seen that video of the cat saving the child from a dog attack. Absolutely amazing.

By the way, these were obviously not mean pits, otherwise the cat would have been in pieces all over the street.

Have you ever seen a real cat fight or a cat attacking a dog or something? They attack with deafening, blood curdling screams sharp claws and teeth bared, fur standing straight up on their backs.

Just the screams are usually enough to send the enemy heading for the hills.

Most likely the Pitts were scared and cowering. The tables were turned. This was not something that could not defend itself.

Not a one.

OTOH could the dogs be considered an attractive nuisance?

If they walker was letting them shiite and piss all over everyone's yards, they were fair game.

Yep, had a not fully grown cat stand down my dad's weimaraner that way. Dog was over to visit, saw the kitten and pursued into another room.

Kitten stopped, turned and went into full combat mode. Funny as hell seeing the much larger dog skid to a sudden stop, then turn and leave.

Ok. Have it your way, but cat people know what I'm talking about.

Not many (man or beast) are foolish enough to mess with a furious cat.

Did you read about the couple who had to call 911 because their cat became angry about something and had them pinned up in the bathroom? Every time they cracked the door open it would attack.

I like cats but that cat would have to go to the animal shelter if he did that to me. :)

You’re ignorant. Some pits are made mean and raised/encouraged to fight/attack by AH lumberheads who own them. Other are just the exact opposite. Learn it.

Or pehaps, the person has a job as a dog walker, and specializes in Pitt bulls. I never would have thought about someone doing a Vick impersonation. Thought it was ignorant southern folk (or which I are one, Native Texan) who would do something backwards as dog fighting (or which I most certainly ain’t one).

I was adopted by a declawed tortoise-shell who sent several cats and not a few dogs to the vet. Biggest score was an over curious (not aggressive) Bull Mastiff, smallest was one of her grown offspring who we were afraid she'd left brain damaged. She always went for the eye, had a number of identifiable punches, and lived past 18 (the kitten she left with "only" a concussion made it to 20).

That said; I love Pitties and, if the report is accurate, they and their walkers were wholly in the right.

Growing up, we had a cat that protected our property.

No dogs in the neighborhood ever set foot on our land, no matter the size.

She was a very smart kitty. We belled her collar to keep her from killing so many birds and she learned to move without making noise.

I believe it!

Growing up, our neighbors had a siamese cat who was the smartest, most intimidating cat I’ve ever seen. She had every dog in the neighborhood in line. They never challenged her, they just “knew” who was boss!

It was explained to you these are clearly friendly docile pits. They do exist.

But if ya want to believe 7 pits who are not so docile are no match for house cat, then I can't help ya slick.☺

Good grief!
