An Indonesian man who claims to be the longest living human in recorded history has described how he “just wants to die”.

Mbah Gotho, from Sragen in central Java, was born on December 31, 1870, according to the date of birth on his identity card.

Now officials at the local record office say they have finally been able to confirm that remarkable date as genuine.

Are you kidding? What is wrong with someones age? I’m the same age as the Islamic enemy agent we have posing as our President, it that it? Well actually I think he just turned 55 as his birthday was in August in Kenya back in 1961, mine is November.

I wonder if he can remember as far back as the early 1900s.

Probably but only the events that occurred in his own village since it is unlikely he had any knowledge of the events in the outside world..........

Why do people here not believe?

Jeanne Calmen, who was verified, died at 122.

Why are a few decade more so impossible?

This is an open minded board that also believes anything it possible with God but doubt so much.

You’ll realize long life is a curse when you have to start burying your children.

Yep, I hope not to see that.

I’ve been subjected, here, to multiple attacks on my purported age. I’m not kidding. Read my homepage where I address it.

Of course, I’m joking as to how you should deal with your age! But we have some bigots here who will use it against you if they feel fit.

Hmmm. My grandfather born in Vercelli.
He and all his kin very long lived. Into late 80s and 90s.

Interesting.

Worked in the systems evaluation end of design back in the 80’s, Not afraid of tech, was first on the net in 83...I assure you not much there. First Blackberry, first bag cell, First cable internet... on and on.

Now. I am really not interested in tech. Stopped upgrading phones in 2011, I just purchase them on the net.

Stopped moving music, I am sticking to CDs, Hell I lived through vinyl, 8 tracks, reel to reel, cassettes, and CDs.

Stopped dealing with complicated vid. I had video and now CDs, I do use Netflix. Bought a big 90 in screen for my movies, I watch perhaps4 to 10 times a month. And I got that because the local pest control folks told me at one of my apts, that the movie theatres are one of the biggest sites for the transmission of bedbugs. But honestly, that is all.

There just isn’t anything more I want to do. I have a laptop, a little computer for travel, and I like not being always plugged in.

Oh wow you live in NYC. I grew up there and recently escaped to Long Island out in Riverhead. I couldn’t take that city anymore, Mike Bloomberg was the last straw and it seems I got out just in time before the commie De Blasio took office. A lot of people in my family are cops, so you can imagine how we all feel about Mr. De Blasio and his race baiting.

“There just isn’t anything more I want to do. I have a laptop, a little computer for travel, and I like not being always plugged in.”

I sold my Jetta TDI as I could not do anything to it and the next standard maintenance would be about half what it was worth. (A transmission service was $900. $1700 to change the clutch and $1300 for the timing belt. Plus, it would likely need injectors.) I used the money to buy a ‘92 Suburban and an ‘01 Town car. I invested some time and about $300 each and haven’t had a problem in the last 20,000 miles. I like the Town Car so much I am looking for a ‘98 Lincoln Super Coupe. I can work on these cars and I will probably never own a newer one. Fluck the manufacturers and their don’t-let-anybody-work-on-it designs. (I am also researching late forties flat heads. Want one of those too.)

Who knows his real age?
If a government wants the oldest person just falsify records like Hawaii with Obama.

Oh yeah and don’t let these jerks get to you about age, as Reagan said:

“I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent’s youth and inexperience”

That says it all doesn’t it.

"Reminds me of an interview I saw decades ago of an old man in the Andes...“Why would anyone want to be this old?” For him it was just more years of hard work."

Much of, "The Man Who Would be King," was filmed in the Atlas mountains of Morocco. For the character of Kafu Selim, they found a local centenarian working as a security guard at an olive orchard.

During the shooting of the film, John Huston noticed that he kept dozing off, and Huston was worried that the pace of production may have been too much for him. Huston had a talk with him to see if he was going to be ok. The old man told him the filming was easy, but the night shift at the olive orchard was wearing him out.

He didn't realize he was going to be paid quite handsomely for his screen time and thought he had to keep his security job to make ends meet.

The oldest person I ever met was an uncle who my grandparent were caring for. He was 112 in 1954 when I met him. He served in the Army of Northern Virginia under General Lee. He died a year later.

Some of my earliest memories are memories of my Great Grandmother who was a Civil War widow and died at the age of 105. She was born in 1840 and passed away in 1945.

My TDI is one of the recalls. I am torn. I really don’t like anything I see on the market.

I am so sick of throw away vehicles. Trashy things with two or more screens.

I want a vehicle without a computer. At the same time, I cannot do my own maintenance. Or really even understand the maintenance. Hard to decide.
