As Seen on TV - Flex Seal

Anyone had any luck using Flex Seal? I'm betting it's no where as good as the guy on tv says it is.

Thought I'd ask to see if anyone has tried it.

I included UFOs as a topic just in case this stuff works in space. HA!

I used it to seal around the edge of windows that were leaking. It worked well for that but so would have regular silicon caulk. The flex seal was on a clearance table and cheaper or I would have just gotten caulk.

My take is that Flex Seal is for people that don’t own a caulking gun and don’t need to do a whole lot

Try Sashco "Through The Roof" sealant. Not as easy to apply as a spray can, but its good stuff. You can get 1qt cans from Walmart.com or perhaps your local hardware store.

I wouldn’t spend a penny on that stuff or anything else that guy is pushing. Because if something looks too good to be true... You know. Also, anything that chubby guy peddles on TV is always overhyped like it’s the best invention since the paddle wheel.

Haven’t tried FlexSteel, but I did guy a container of Gorilla Glue. GG would not hold.

It is difficult to find stuff that actually measures up to their advertising.

The rubber seal around the pvc vent pipe on my roof had started to pull away from the pipe, allowing rain water to run down the outside of the pipe and reach the drywall in my ceiling. I used the spray on the rubber seal and stopped the leak.

The spray worked well, but it did splatter a bit; so I would wear clothes you don't care too much about, if you use it.
