No group ever blended vocals, horns, guitars and organs better than the INCREDIBLE Chicago Transit Authority/Chicago, circa 1969-1974.

For your perusal, Bill Chase - Get It On (1971)

Thank you for sharing that music site, I was unaware of it til now.

You're welcome.
I have many dozens of LPs which I intend to digitize, sooner or later; Also quite a few CDs which are now unavailable. A site like this one is invaluable for that task.

“Behind Blue Eyes” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.

That was 1971. AFAIK, the only Who song recorded in 1970 was "The Seeker."

"Mississippi Cotton picking Delta Town."

LOL!

I had forgotten that one (and I have the LP.)

A real toe-tapper....

Mean Mistreater was one of my 1st husband’s fav Grand Funk tunes-we both liked Mountain’s Mississippi Queen, too-all better than what came out when disco really got going-we danced to some of the disco stuff-they played it at most night clubs, but neither of us thought it was anything to write home about...

I remember “Bread” was one of the first bands I really liked when I was little. “It Don’t Matter to Me” is a great song.

tourists or day trippers that find their way there don’t stay long-it isn’t their kind of place, even though it is the kind that people like us enjoy-I think they are afraid of the clientele...

The place must have a name...

I've lived in San Francisco, traveled Hunters Point and Oakland at night.
If I survived all that, now at my age, it wouldn't worry me.

I must confess that in 1993 I turned off the main highway into Philadelphia, between New York City And D.C., planning to visit the historic places. 3 minutes into the area and a U-turn ended that fantasy!

I assume it is worse today, so I'll have to settle for documentaries.

You’re forgetting Live at Leeds, which had Summertime Blues released as a single.

#97 That is Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) in the background.

I love the version of Mean Mistreater from the Live album, which also has great versions of Heartbreaker and Inside Looking Out.

Having reviewed the entire catalog from ABBA to Frank Zappa...

Favorite song from the 70’s is Dust in the Wind.

Most others depend on my mood, that Kansas cut cuts through that.

Machine Head was 1972.

In Rock was 1970, with Speed King and Child In Time.

If we’re talking FZ, “Cucamonga” is my obscure defacto fave.

Peaches en Regalia was a gateway song that opened my eyes to Frank’s composition genius and propelled my exploration into his broader catalog.

I rarely watch a movie in the theater anymore, but went to see the new FZ documentary Eat That Question a couple of weeks ago. Pretty good—mostly Zappa in his own words.

Yep, that's Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) as I noted in my post.

In addition, Tom Waits' album "Blue Valentine" featured his then girlfriend, a young Ricki Lee Jones on the back cover with him.

Another GREAT TW album and "Christmas Card From A Hooker in Minneapolis" is classic Tom Waits.

Yeah, I mis-read it ... thought it was “70’s”, not “70”.
