How the Debates Should be Done / Vanity
Vanity

Posted on 08/20/2016 8:09:20 AM PDT by chopperman

Trump should throw a monkey wrench in the networks' plans to shlong him in the debates. He should announce that accepting gotcha questions while Hillary gets pre-planned softballs aren't going to happen this time. He should announce that he will choose the questions for Hillary and then she can choose the questions for him. It won't change the questions he gets, but it'll change the questions she gets. He should also announce the first debate to be about the Global Warming fraud.

I don’t trust Mark Levin anymore, and sometimes Hannity gets rattled too easily. My picks: Judge Pirro and Lou Dobbs.

Only one thing that Trump needs to demand:

It's a debate, at lecterns, no chairs allowed. Stand for an hour or so.

Ignore the questions, who moderates, etc. Just stand and answer.

Hillary! can't do it. She can't stand for more than 10, 15 minutes. Her frailty would come out, she'd lose focus. It would be obvious to all that she simply does not have the stamina for a press conference or debate, and there is NO WAY she'd have the stamina to be the President.

Ignore who asks what, or what is asked. Just focus on: two people, two lecterns, two hours. That's it.

Simply put the RNC should refuse any debate where the moderator does anything but pose ask each candidate the same answer and then keep time. No follow ups no gotchas no corrections. Anything else and no debate.

“My proposal will prevent her from receiving scripted questions.”

I been saying that all along. When the debate starts, before the first question is asked, Trump should change the rules and give Hillary the first question. It will throw her off guard, force the media to come to her defense and in front of 50 million viewers expose the rats.

That’s how you win wars.

No moderators. Trump questions Hillary and Hillary questions Trump. Mano vs. Mano.

Isn't this how Lincoln and Douglas did it?

Why give these other shills face time?

See my reply at 25.

Even though one presents both with the same question, it can be a question that is favorable to one of them.

Instead, both should be able to question each other directly.

Also, make sure that there are supporters in the audience with flash bulbs.

Three hour debates, no sitting. OK, maybe a five minute break each hour. No leaning on a support either.

“He should announce that he will choose the questions for Hillary and then she can choose the questions for him.”

Excellent idea!

“Stand for an hour or so.”

The debates are a mental contest, not a physical contest.

JFK was often very sick physically, but he was still up to the job.

FDR because of polio couldn’t stand on his own during his campaign or Presidency.

” I’d put a walker with the golf ball feet on the dais and debate it.”

Then of course the MSM would broadcast far and wide that Trump ridicules and hates old people.

Candidates can not leave the stage at any break and must continue to stand by their lectern alone during any break.

Excellent post and points.
This recent Soros sponsored assault on Trump’s Secret Service SUV—with no arrests made, although a clear violation of federal law https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/115 —is further evidence that the left and their GOP-e allies will stop at nothing to sabotage Donald Trump and the will of the people.

As usual it is Trump and the sane half of America versus everyone else. So you are absolutely correct: he should lay down some ground rules.
As soon as they violate them and try to sandbag him, he points out that another agreement has been violated, like the GOP-e whores and their oaths, so he ignores their rules and uses the debate podium as a bully pulpit.

“You have said X, Y and Z. Aren’t you an idiot, and how can you ask anyone to support you?”

He could answer that he is seeking to make deals to solve America’s problems. To make the best deals he needs to be somewhat excessively demanding and most importantly, unpredictable.

To get insanely good deals from China or the Congress involves acting and bluffing.

Trump has made many deals and unlike Clinton’s NAFTA, the deals Trump makes will benefits US citizens.

I don’t think there will be a debate. Hillary couldn’t last more than 15 minutes in a high-stress debate without coughing, head bobbing, or freezes. Can you imagine an hour and a half? Who would hold her up? Nope, she isn’t strong enough to do it. Ain’t gonna happen. The VP’s might debate.

Get Monica Crowley as a moderator, and Mark Stein as another. NO AUDIENCE, either! And the candidates must be on stage with no help or aids of any kind!! No ear buds, no displays on the lectern, etc.

Thank you for the link. It confirms that real debates are mano vs. mano.

If Hillary refuses to do this, Trump would be justified in claiming that she is not presidential material.

That one I remember being important, because the media and Democrats were trying to portray a false image, and Reagan showed the nation that he was not some lunatic. Same with Trump this time. We will see. It’s a different world now, but it still seems a huge number of people only get their news walking down the street past the local bar.
