Source: Boy was decapitated on waterslide at Kansas park

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — A 10-year-old boy was decapitated as he rode a 168-foot tall waterslide at a water park in Kansas, a person familiar with the investigation said Wednesday.

The person, who is not authorized to speak about the boy's death, told The Associated Press that Caleb Schwab was decapitated Sunday on the "Verruckt" raft ride at the Schlitterbahn WaterPark in Kansas City, Kansas.

The first few days after this accident there was no information about the details of the accident. Yesterday on the news they were reporting he died of a neck injury.

Why are the details about this young boy’s death being held from the public? They need to know exactly how dangerous these rides can be.

May not have lied. IIRC, oddly enough, “decapitation” doesn’t necessarily mean someone’s head came off: simply popping the neck vertebrae apart is referred to as some sort of decapitation medically.
