Sorry to hear this, especially at such a relatively young age - he was one of the less abrasive talking heads on ESPN.

From virtually all points of reference, he was regarded as a good and decent man.
He was sincerely interested and dedicated to cures for diabetes and cancer.

I remember him fondly from his days at WMAR in Baltimore back in the 1980s before he moved on to join ESPN.
Total class and a top professional. Will be missed!!

Yep, if memory serves he was also the long time partner of Jimmy Valvano on college basketball telecasts.

He rarely got in the way of whatever story he was reporting. He was up there with Dick Enberg and Jim McKay IMHO.

I believe he was host of the ESPN Sunday talk show The Sports Reporters for several years ever since Dick Schaap passed away.
