We have an obligation to apply encouragement and guidance to Christians who go astray. When someone is leading a life of sin, and being a bad role model for millions of people, we have an obligation to point that out.
We point that out not just to Phelps in his moment of weakness but also to the multitude who may not know what Christians stand for. Christians, and their Bible, do not stand for fornication. Why are you defending it?
I’m not defending fornication. I’m saying no one goes through this life without sin, and it looks very small of you to point out other people’s sin at the moment of great accomplishment.
