Coast to Coast radio show. Last night, discussed EMP threat. Bump for Trump
Coast to Coast Radio Show ^ | 8/9/2016 | (self)

I was listening to the talk radio show Coast to Coast AM, this morning.

There was a very good segment, on the threat of losing power, due to an EMP attack.

This is an issue, which George Noory, has been talking about, for almost two years.

I support him on this, and think this is an issue which Trump should take a position on.

America needs to protect our electrical grid.

George said he might know someone near Trump, and will talk with them to raise the issue with him.

I think we also here, on FR have a couple people who are near to Trump.

This is a serious issue. If anyone reading this, has Trump on your connection list, this is just to mention it to you.

Thank you.

What concerns me is liberal terrorists going on the rampage the day Trump is sworn in. It is going to be bad. The media has already lit the fuse.

All I am saying is, this seems to be an issue which our nation is not paying enough attention to.

Noory has been talking about this, for nearly two years. Meanwhile North Korea and Iran continue to develop their own nuclear weapons programs, which could add significantly to the threat.

Our national leadership, seems to be completely asleep on this subject.

Noory may or may not be a person you support. I happen to think he is now leaning toward Trump.

But the subject is a very serious one. The guest Noory had on the show last night, has a long contact with Newt Gingrich.

He has produced a couple films about the threat posed to America, by an EMP attack. The threat of which seems to be growing, to me.

Yet nobody appears to be doing a single thing, to counter this threat.

Bump, for Trump.

I have supported Trump since before he was even running. I strongly encourage him, to stand up on this issue, and start a program protecting the American population.

OK I’m a little stupid on this one but just how bad would an EMP be? I have my own water well’s, gas supply with generator that will power the whole house. I understand the national impact but what about the personal?

I believe Newt Gingrich has been pretty outspoken on this issue, too. I’m hoping Trump makes him chief of staff.

It’s not an issue that’s anywhere easily solvable for multiple reasons. Consider what happened when Krakatoa exploded. Another event like that would greatly restrict solar generated electricity.

Our electrical generation is subject to multiple threats the most dangerous of which is the EPA.

No I understand the threat posed by bureaucrats. I agree completely, but that is a more subtle danger. What I am saying, is that there is now a clear danger, which is rapidly increasing. Hundreds of millions of Americans, could be impacted immediately, and for real, by an EMP attack.

And our entire national leadership, appears to be completely blocking the issue from discussion.

We need a president, to stand up and do something about this.

Trump, seems like he is just the guy.

Trump does not have the time at this point to do the indepth study to examine the issue. It’s an industry and historical problem that goes back to the electric war between Edison and Westinghouse.

Got anything with electronics in it? Your car maybe? Your generator?

It is rapidly becoming a national security issue.

I think it is important for Donald to take a position, in favor of protecting our national power grid, from an EMP attack.

Donald, or any people on this forum who have real contact with him, please consider this.

Thank you.

Definition of electronic’s please, the generator is an old AJAX that runs off it’s own power generation, the gas comes from an old well under it’s own pressure. Does the EMP effect electronics if they’re not running.

Obozo, the great pretender, has been trying to take down the power grid for the last seven plus years so he can declare martial law and seize total power.

I see basically three types of interruption of the power grid.

Localized outage with possibility of cascading due to multiple attacks on power stations. Blowing up or shooting out large transformers, etc. Dry run already attempted. Relatively quick recovery.

Solar Flare. It has different types of pulses. They cause disruptions depending on degree of intensity. The problem with this and the EMP attack is that they take out the large transformers which are in short supply in spare inventory and would cause loss of the grid for months to years.

EMP is similar to the Solar Flare in that they can vary in size and damage. One can affect individual electronics such as car computers, etc. Many opinions on just how bad this would be. Everything from everything fried to “just disconnect battery and reconnect and car runs fine.”

There have been many opinions about this on FR, survival blogs, government studies. I would suggest if this worries you, you should do your own research.

It is a serious concern of mine.

A bit of food storage. When we go to the grocery store, it
“looks” like there’s a LOT on the shelf. However, it is
just a few days supply for the huge number of people who
shop day and night at these stores. Stores depend on a
delivery system instead of a storage system & delivery
would be compromised in such a crisis. - Water supply.
We “can” survive with little food for a few days; but NOT
without water! Also, USE stored items and rotate them!-
An electromagnetic pulse EMP would be AWFUL, not in terms
of “immediate” killed; but the long-term effects would be
really bad. -

Keep in mind the Golden Rule - “Do unto others as you
would have them do unto you.” Christ

It is my understand that the pulse travels through the ground so to protect it, it would have to be disconnected.

I have seen arguments that a Faraday cage would sheild electronics. I have seen arguments that it would not. The more sensitive the electronics, the more damage. CMOS chips, etc. toast.

I don’t know who is right.

His time would be better served attacking Hillary and not introducing things requiring a lot of thought on the part of voters. The government can’t solve the problem other than getting out of the way.

Most of the equipment on the ranch other than new vehicles have no electronics to speak of and have a few vehicles I’ve kept for nostalgia purposes that have no electronic’s either. Point’s plug’s and condenser.

George Snorey is unlistenable.

I am aware of the EMP issue, I just will never hear it from him...

Read: “One second after” for a primer on the cascading events of infrastructure and health related demise of millions. Mob violence etc...

While not the authoratve manual this fictional novel presents a scenario which could play out.

Septic concerns are huge. Those requiring medications to live are doomed etc..

Dystopia, but well thought out.

You will be fine...until you or (more to the point) your neighbors run out of food. With no electricity, they will lose everything in their drive/freezer within a day or so unless it is cold at the time.

No gasoline deliveries, no water, no food, no medical services, no money except cash on hand, no communications except a few people with solar-powered ham radios or walkie-talkies...yeah, it is going to be “fun.” It is the ultimate in assymetric warfare - and will likely be brought to us by Jean or North Korea.

More directly on topic, Gingrich is all over this issue. If he is advising Trump, it will be addressed pretty soon after inauguration.
