NEW ORLEANS -- There have been 19 murders over the past 18 days in New Orleans.
WWL-TV crime analyst Jeff Asher says it's the bloodiest stretch of time in the city since 2010.
"To be having a stretch that is equaling what we had six years ago when murder was much more prevalent is obviously not a positive sign," Asher said.
NOPD Deputy Chief Paul Noel called it a spike in violent crime, not a long term trend.
"These cases most likely involve individuals that chose to engage in illegal activity," Noel said. "They chose to make decisions that put them at risk to being victims of violent crime."

Keep moving. Nothing to see here. It’s not a long term trend just a short term spike in the murder rate. Things will get better when the do nothing republicans in congress give us more money.

The company my Dad worked for in the 1990s had a really brilliant idea that went on: Have many of the annual conferences in New Orleans in July or August. If I remember correctly is that he told me most days you could barely step outside (that the heat and humidity was that oppressive for the uninitiated at that time of the year).
Didn’t I read somewhere that BLM declared August the ‘month of rage’, or some such thing?

Black lives only matter in the rare cases of a black person being shot by a white policeman, or a “white Hispanic” neighborhood watch person.
Otherwise black lives don’t matter.
Why is the Black Lives Matter organization allowed to exist as they are? They chant: “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now.”
Why is this not a terrorist organization? You do not have freedom of speech to incite violence.
