This article is about what to do if you are unarmed, and you are confronted by multiple attackers. Before anyone writes me "Get a gun! Get a gun!," let me state very clearly that I am a conceal and carry instructor in my home state, I often carry a firearm on me, and I urge others who feel they are up to the challenge to do the same. That being said, I know that most Americans do not carry a firearm on them (or any other kind of weapon). If you don't want to carry a weapon, I'm just fine with that.
It could be these days that you will be attacked by a mob ... as in a riot. Or you may be in some sort of traffic incident, and several thugs get out of the car to pound you. Or you may have a gang come at you while you are shopping in a store or walking out of a sporting activity. What do you do? What can you do? Here are a few tips.

These days I am more worried about the protests than terrorist events.
8 helpful tips plus one in the chamber
A little randori practice is always good
Well, BLM is in cahoots with terrorists. Same as the Communists did in the black communities in the 60-70’s.
I am not really knowledgeable in self defense but these sound reasonable.
Probably the best thing you can do is try very hard to never be in a situation where that can happen. Sometimes it is simply unavoidable.
Helpful Tip #1: Never be unarmed.

Uzi tactical pen
thanks for the tip!
Two words: Krav Maga
I took karate for a number of years and learned a lot. I always suggest to people, when in a potentially bad area, to walk with their car keys between their fingers. Two sets of keys? Both hands. Like brass knuckles. Go for the eyes....the throat....the temples.....the groin.
When going through airport security I clip the Uzi pen to a notebook in my computer bag and then I clip it to my pocket when through screening.
I also took karate for many years, but would rather not go hand to hand against a mob. I CCW and have started carrying extra magazines. Also the trunk rifle with loaded 30 and 40 round magazines.
thanks, I may get a few tactical pens to gift to family, especially young adult nieces.
Yep. Superior fire power is always the best! ;)
And some training on how to use them.
got it, thanks
When I was a Federal Agent, we took some very basic lessons on self defense. Our instructor was a national karate champion.
One thing which sticks in my mind was if the bad guy has a gun, don’t try anything unless you are sure he is going to use it.
I am old enough that carrying a cold steel simulated Irish Blackthorne walking stick does not look odd. It is basically a large club made of extremely tough material.
When it comes to it tho, nothing compares to a gun. Next is a big knife.
I carry a Tactical pen when in non-permissive environments (ie. Work) and one thing I have discovered is that pepper spray is better suited to women IMO than Tactical pens.
IMO, if a woman hits an attacker once with the pen, chances are good that he will be able to get it from her as men have better upper body strength. If that should happen, the attackers would use it on the woman. With pepper spray or mace however, women can use it at.a.distance and not be disarmed.
