UFC 200: Live Thread (Tate/Nunes Lesnar/Hunt Cormier/Silva Aldo/Edgar )
7-9-16

Posted on 07/09/2016 5:10:25 PM PDT by Impy

Premlims airing now on Fox Sports 2 (sorry)

Will be on Fox Sports 1 when the Yankee game is over, in extra innings

Main Card on PPV

Miesta Tate defends her Women's BW belt against Amanda Nunes.

Former HW Champ Brock Lesnar returns and faces Mark Hunt

LHW Champ DC takes on Anderson Silva in a non-title bout, after Jon Jones is pulled from the card (sigh).

Former featherweight Champ Jose Aldo takes on Former LW Champ Franke Edgar for the Interim FW title. Conor probably never goes back to FW so I don't know why this isn't for the real belt, but whatever.

Cain Velasquez/Travis Browne starts off the main card

Prelims

Zingano/Julianna Peña Hendricks/Gastelum Dillashaw/Assunção Northcutt/Marín

The 3 fight pass prelims were all good matches too

Yep, Browne landed one punch early and then nothing.

IV Ban, drug testing...put him out of contention.

Laying on top of a guy for 3 rounds is hard work. :/

I was referring to Johnny Hendricks, who sadly lost his match tonight. Like that guy.

I think you may be referring to Jon Jones, who was removed from this card for some substance test failure. I cannot stand Jon Jones, and frankly I think he should be fired, or removed from the UFC.

The guy is just non-stop suck.

I think he would have likely beaten Cormier tonight, however I do not ever want to see Jon Jones as a UFC champ again.

Nate Diaz, the opposite of Muhammed Ali. An illiterate trash talker.

Lesnar gets it done, takes a clear decision.

Hendricks hasn’t done much since the UFC went to the IV ban and USADA drug testing.

Hmmm. I hope that is not an indication of him doing shady things, but yeah he has been on a slide here lately.

Lesnar looks good. He can’t box. Speed was good on take downs. If he can avoid the boxing he can win the belt again. Once it goes to the mat the man is lethal.

Do you think if Lesnar gets a good striking coach he’ll be unstoppable?

The Carousel of Champions at 135 continues. If Ronda is up for it, they should book Rousey/Nunes at Madison Square Garden.

I think he’s getting good with defense against the strike, and that is all he needs. Hunt never nailed him. You could see him duck under each big punch.

He needs karate training. It’s the only way hell score in the stand up, and fend off a Cain Velasques assault.

After three rounds he looked winded, but mauling Hunt like he did would wind anyone. If he can stand and rest without taking a punch, he is unstopable.

with his ability to also wrestle- he’ll be a definately powerhouse- If he starts getting beat to the punch he’s always got his wrestling ot fall back on- but he deoes need improvement on punching- He’s so explosive- He shoudl be able to jump in punch a few times qwith massive powerful short punches, and get back out again-
