Pokémon Go is sweeping the nation, and along with its growing popularity is a steady stream of bizarre news stories and personal anecdotes of near-death experiences. First there was the Australian police warning users not to physically enter the police station when collecting items, and earlier today Washington's Department of Transportation warned against "pokemoning" while driving. The mobile game's dedicated subreddit is also filling up with reports of personal injury incurred while exploring the real world for digital creatures.
Now, a teenager has discovered a dead body floating in her hometown river. Shayla Wiggins, a 19-year-old Riverton, Wyoming resident, discovered a man floating in the Wind River early this morning when trying to catch pokémon from a "natural water resource," she told KTVQ.com. Wiggins called 911 and local police arrived on the scene to retrieve the body.

I think this explains my daughter’s facebook post I saw before, with my grandson and some creature. She said “gotta catch them all”. But I’m still not understanding if the little monster (not my grandson, the other little monster) was real!
Sounds like a great way to lure some unsuspecting victim into a remote area.
My two daughters, ages 13 and 16, have walked so much over the last three days playing this game that they have blisters on their feet.
They’ve explored the local green belt trails and visited monuments and places of interest locally that they’ve never seen. Sure beats them lazing on the couch all day.
I absolutely love the game. Downloaded it myself!

And I’m totally cool with that. More power to them. However, my point was that too many people need a phone app or some other fad to motivate them to get off their duff.

Remember stories (not all urban legends) about kids wandering caves for days thinking they were living D & D?
Just wait, that is coming for this game. Someone getting killed by wandering into traffic even sooner.
My son corrected me. The character did not ‘run’, but it continued to be by the side of the car as the car moved (as seen from the cellphone screen), looking like it was on the median strip. But still, pretty weird.
Most Americans are fat.....very little motivates them to stop with “Hand to Mouth” disease.....
As a result, the Exercise and Diet industries are Billion dollar enterprises....
