We are disgusted with Murray’s treatment and presentation of the Big Broadcast. He has turned it into a giant “politically correct” disclaimer. These shows are uniquely AMERICAN, and there’s NOTHING wrong with them. If he imagines the faithful listeners to this program are so stupidly sensitive that they need a “disclaimer” before any show that might “offend” some sensitive “millenial,” he’s dead wrong. On the other hand, if he imagines that these shows will appeal to those same miseducated, “snowflake” millenials, he’s also dead wrong.
He’s running off loyal listeners, and you guys either need to get rid of him, or prepare to see the listenership of the Big Broadcast plummet.

If classic radio fans in the DC area are upset with the “new” presentation on WAMU—and they have every right to be—they should approach one of the station’s rivals, perhaps WMAL. Convince them to run their own block of old time radio shows on Sunday evening, and find a host who will let those programs stand on their own merit. Who knows? Perhaps Ed Walker’s old partner, Willard Scott, might be enticed into hosting the show.
One of the reasons I maintain my subscription to Sirius/XM is their classic radio channel, hosted by Greg Bell. Mr. Bell doesn’t have the most resonant voice, but he knows the programs, their history and the performers—and most importantly, he doesn’t present them through the filter of political correctness.

Does that mean Ed Walker had been ignoring all those emails, comments on the site, and letters, and telegrams, and smoke signals, and telephone calls, and Morse code messages, and faxes, and interstellar communications requesting information assuring a safe space for delicate ears?
I'm skeptical of a claim that outside sources drove this decision to wussify the intros.
