A huge 88 percent of blacks believe more change is needed before they have equal rights with whites, and about half, 43 percent, don't believe racism will end, according to a sweeping new survey by Pew Research Center of race in America.
In a three-month survey of 3,769 adults — 1,799 whites, 1,004 blacks and 654 Hispanics — Pew found that whites and blacks have starkly different views on race and race relations.

I’d like to know exactly what those enumerated “rights” are, frankly. I thought all our laws, regulations, etc. were color free, descriptively.
Are they thinking about some other thing called a right but really is a feeling, a perception or just plain something to blame?

Remember the push for integration in the 1960s-70s and onward. The school busing programs, the integrated housing programs, Section 8 in stable, established neighborhoods?
The fond hope that blacks, rubbing up to whites, would pick up some clues to a successful life.
Why has that not worked out exactly? Oh, I know. Whites didn’t try hard enough.
If they REALLY want ‘equal rights’ we should give it to them, in areas like:
College admissions and scholarships
Police and Fire departments
Corporate hiring and promotions
Small business contracting
The list is rather endless, and giving ‘equal rights’ will end a TON OF PAPERWORK and allow colleges, businesses, and government to choose the BEST PEOPLE for their positions...regardless of skin color.
Of course the results are easily predictable, and racism will be SHOUTED when true equality of opportunity results in a clear inequality of outcomes - even though race will have absolutely nothing to do with it, if true ‘equal rights’ are finally employed.

I remember in Los Angeles, a couple of decades back, there would be huge numbers of school buses (as in probably 100 per day, or more - you would see half a dozen at once on the freeway) going from the San Fernando Valley to South Central.
This was because the Valley was 30% white and South Central was 6% white. Made me think just how special the leftists viewed us whites, since obviously the intent was for some of that whiteness to rub off on the South Central people. You’d think the KKK was running the place.
Hard to see what good it did, other than waste an hour or two a day for the kids and add to the freeway traffic - but no one complained, or at least whatever complaining was done (probably a lot) was embargoed by the media...white people, nothing to report here.
