One thing Star Trek always does well is push beyond social boundaries, often featuring progressive storylines that question controversial issues of the time.

The new Star Trek series on CBS will also feature progressive characters and stories, maintaining the tradition of going "where no one has gone before."

When asked about those kinds of story lines, showrunner Bryan Fuller confirmed that the new series plans on going back to Star Trek's roots.

"I think the progressive audience that loves Star Trek will be happy that we're continuing that tradition," Fuller said to Collider.

Wrong. The government never would have invented warp drive, starships, or transporters. If we left it up to the government we would still be carving round rocks in to squares to allow equal distribution of loads on wheels.

Even “First Contact” shows a private individual invented warp technology.

Every episode they violate their prime directive. They always at some point get involved.

Tribble pelt -- LOL

The only problem would be the wig falling off, after shaking uncontrollably around any disguised Klingons.

B5 struck me as right of center and essentially pretty fair all around.

SAAB was good and it sucked that it got cancelled as it got interesting.

Vansen was hot.

I tend to agree on that, although there were a few “reflective” episodes - the black-white, white-black episode, etc.

Kirk embodied the brash and adventuresome American. I always marveled at the number of scenes of him in his quarters or somewhere pulling on his boots after having it off with some honey. The guy got more space tail than a comet!

I prefer this version with Carol Burnett as Kirk.

I sometimes watch the one with Capt. Picard then all of a sudden they show this hideous Black woman wearing a ridiculous hat and I just turn it off.

LOL. Me too.

That’s from the episode “Menage a Troi.” I always liked Marina Sirtis.

Expect fags, dykes, trannies, and lots of illegal “aliens.”

And now there’s no need to argue over who was the worst captain, Picard or Janeway. One can be both.
