Isn’t that what got a congresscritter in a jam on a yacht

You had better be damn well rich for this. Haven’t you seen that show “Below Decks” or something like that.

They expect a tip bigger than most families would spend in a once-in-a-lifetime vacation.

Rich man’s fare.

To spend time on a rich man’s ship for a few days, you’ll need to be a... uh... rich man.

Personally, I can’t even afford a canoe.

I notice that there is not a single price listed anywhere. I guess it’s one of those “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it” deals.

Those boats are often corporate charters. Top 5 salesmen and wives kind of a charter. Starting at $150,000 a week.

You need Sunsail.com.

2 couples and a few kids. $3,000-5,000 a week.

Great fun. Try BVI Tortola first time, easy sailing and a lot of uninhabited little islands to explore.

We do it once a year or so. More fun than a big cruise ship!!!

Who doesn’t?

As others have pointed out though this seems like Trump or Rush type of money. Definitely not for the common folk.

Dem Gary Hart had a cabin cruiser called the “Monkey Business” on which he cavorted with his mistress. Got caught after reporters questioned him about thecrumors of adultery. He laughed the question off, said there was nothing to it and challenged the reporters to follow him around. They did and caught him with his girl friend in his lap aboard the aptly named boat. Ended his run for dem pres nomination.

A boat like shone on the vid, is probably in the $100k (maybe more)range per week. Add on to that another 10-15% gratuity for the crew.

Here is a yacht to check out.
196' Benetti "St David". Charters at $267k a week

yachtcharterfleet.com

Youtube St. David/Xanadu

Or maybe the 230" Martha Ann is more your style
at $667k a week

Most expect 5%-15% of charter price.
For most of the crew, when chartered, their day is about 16 hours long. The tip is to compensate the extra long days. If you had a crew of 12, paying them $200-$300 a day, that’s $2400/$3600 a day total, $16,800/$25,200 for a week

That’s fine, but it isn’t for a family on a budget.

Holy cow! (Excuse my language.)

Those yachts cost more per week than my house is worth.

Not to mention way more than my annual income.

Yow.

Mega-yacht owners offset the costs of ownership by renting out their vessels.

Ask Herb Chambers. "Excellence V" is a down-size from E IV.

When it takes 2 days to fill-up with fuel ...you know you're in another league

I don't think anybody on this thread said or implied it was for a family on a budget
