This is EXACTLY why no one should submit to any registration of their firearms, period. Some states do that routinely now, NJ for instance and HI obviously. So, NEVER ever register a firearm no matter what new law gets passed.

I agree, alloy, and what’s troubling here is that it’s an FBI DATABASE! That’s a direct violation of the FOPA. Someone needs to call them out on this.

Seems to me that trying to mix police state with a small island could be quite hazardous duty for jack booted thug wannabes. The family oriented native culture has a rather violent edge.

I don’t see how putting someone in a criminal database for gun ownership is not “infringing”. Watch my state of Illinois to follow suit..

Hawaii state Senator Will Espero, a Democrat who co-authored the law and owns a gun, called it "common sense legislation that does not hurt anyone."*shakes head*

Where is the NRA? Are there no NRA members in Hawaii? They should be suing the state for infringement.

Let this be a warning to gun owners in the other 49 states.
Too late for NY. I believe Comrade Cuomo's "Safe Act" already requires gun registration.

Is this even legal under Feral law? I had believed that no databases would be kept on gun ownership, that it was specifically prohibited, under the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986. What does "legal" have to do with anything?
We need a Trump at this juncture in history...

They tipped their hand early here.
They were supposed to do this after the GOP agreed that banning guns from people on the no fly list was reasonable.
Only then would they put all gun owners on the no fly list.

We don’t treat suspected terrorists this way.

OK...so the bad guys have to register too right!! That will fix crime in Hawaii for sure. You bunch of Damn fools....just keep on voting for the Demo-Rats. Do you really think a law or rule is going to stop crime with guns....Rules did not stop DemoRats from setting in at Congress.
To: cardinal4
I know Trump isn't perfect on Conservative issues, but we need to get him into the White House this November.
If Hillary is elected, then she'll appoint the next justices to the Supreme Court, and there will be no way we can stop laws like this from happening anywhere.
