The conditions of landing and takeoff limit the type of aircraft used. Cruising at altitude is not analogous.

35 years ago, a local airshow had a C-130 that was fitted with skis along side its tires. It was named the “Arctic Queen” and was used for polar exploration. We walked through it. So nothing new. A clickbait story.

“Twin Otters are not “tiny”.”

No they’re not. I’m still trying to figure out why the flaps were frozen in the down position.

Thank you. I couldn’t read any further.

Nope when autocorrect came out, proofreaders were unemployed. I used to call my local paper frequently and offer to do the job for them. They had a picture of a large bird on the front page during National Newspapers in Education week and the cut line included the word “vultiours” instead of vultures. I never called again, I knew it was hopeless.

Twin Otters are not “tiny”.

Looked 'small' until I saw a photo of one next to a pickup truck!
65ft wingspan!

Service ceiling 25,000 ft (7,620 m)

I don’t know nothing no airplane, but would they be flying at maximum elevation?

Curious to know, if you suspected clickbait; how did you get this far???

A NASA satellite measured that temperature in August 2010; on July 31 of this year, another bone-chilling temperature of -135.3 degrees was recorded.

If the flap hinges froze it was during the time spent refueling.
I reckon maybe they were heated up with propane torches.

Our 4 trillion dollar gooberment could build a hangar at the site with some
heat and tow the plane in out of the wind and weather. The maintenance
guys would appreciate that. It would provide more vehicle parking also.

I am a big believer in inventing completely new words and phrases for things instead of stealing existing ones.

Here’s a tidbit-——a skyscraper is a sailing ship like the China Clippers.
They were called that decades before the tall buildings arrived.
