LAS VEGAS (AP) — A federal officer says a man arrested at a Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas told authorities he tried to grab an officer's gun so he could kill the candidate.
A complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Nevada charges Michael Steven Sandford with an act of violence on restricted grounds.
It cites a report by Special Agent Swierkowski, whose first name was not included, saying Sandford told officers he drove from California to kill Trump and went to a Las Vegas gun range the day before to learn to shoot.

“Sandford’s visa to visit the U.S. expired several months ago, according to testimony in court Monday afternoon. He had been living in California in his car after leaving New Jersey where he lived for a year after coming to visit from Great Britain.”

How interesting. Somebody who wants to kill a political candidate doesn't even know the basics of marksmanship beforehand, picking up 'training' just a day *before* he intends to accomplish his deed. And didn't even bring his own gun to the scene, to boot.
Talk about "amateur hour". Gavrilo Princip, the man who shot and killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and lit the spark of World War One, practiced for *months*, with his Browning Pocket Pistol, so that when the opportunity presented itself to him, he was ready. (Note I do not approve of what Princip did, as the results are as they say, history, and still reverberate to us living today, nearly a hundred years later. Those shots caused more damage to the entire world than can ever be imagined...)
