I'm working the polls today for local elections, and the discussion has led to the Fla shootings. A few ladies asked me for a book for them to understand Islam. Suggestions ?????

The Life of Mohammed (A Taste of Islam) The Sira
It is the biography of Mohammed’s life....Allah said he is the perfect Muslim...so anything in the Sira is to be followed and practiced by Muslims wanting to please allah.
As you read it remember ANYTHING is that book is to be practiced by a Muslim....then you will know where all this violence comes from....and the Islamic game plan for the world
If you want a very comprehensive tome from Islam's founding until the 1492 fall of Constantinople, there is nothing better than Edward Gibbon's Classic The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. This book is so good that it is still in print after more than 200 years.
There is probably not any book of this length which can make that claim, though the Bible would come close.

Hilaire Belloc (b.1870-d.1953) is still the best. His analysis is historical and metaphysical (as an orthodox Catholic). He was a scholar, having graduated with a first from Oxford in history, and was prescient (what he said back in the 1920’s/30’s about Islam and the West is eerily accurate in 2016).
