'Voice' singer Christina Grimmie dies after shooting at Orlando concert

The man who shot and killed singer Christina Grimmie in Orlando on Friday night was not from that central Florida city, and "traveled to Orlando apparently to commit this crime," Orlando Police Chief John Mina told reporters Saturday.

The gunman -- who authorities say fatally shot himself after shooting Grimmie -- was a 21-year-old white man, and had two handguns, two additional loaded magazines and a large hunting knife, Mina said.

As of now, still no ID on shooter, but CNN story says police are going thru his phone and online postings, looking for a motive.
But they don’t want anybody else to do so?

What was the motive to murder the singer? He drove long ways and had 2 guns an d lot of ammo. It was obviously pre-meditated.

Even as conspiracy theories go I’d say that’s a stretch. There’s no sign that her personal life was off in any fashion. If she was emulating Houston it was only as a singing talent.

They didn't waste a minute identifying the perp by his race. Somehow; I don't think they would have done the same if he were non-white.

This is funny, in a sad way, when paired with a comment from an earlier thread: ( Detectives were told the suspect, who is not being identified at this time, ) Hmmm... I wonder why. Perhaps to hide the suspect’s RACE???

So because cops didn't immediately specify his race, the perp must be non-white. And because they immediately identified his race as white (which isn't true), the cops must have some ulterior motive.

The CNN article said that the police did not know a motive.

There was a made for TV movie back in the 80s about a young actress who became a victim of a deranged stalker after he saw her play a bit part in a movie. He became convinced that she was a demon, and researched her name and address—not an easy task in the pre-www days. He traveled all the way from Scotland to ambush her and slit her throat when she left her apartment one morning. She was very lucky to survive the attack, but was left with a nasty scar.

And .. if strangers went through HIS phone, and saw the name of other public people; it would not be good.

Better to let the detectives do their job and find out why this guy was stalking her; unrequited love ..??

You are probably remembering "The Theresa Saldana Story," which was a true story about Saldana's stalking and stabbing. She even played herself in the movie. In an ironic twist, Saldana passed away just five days ago.

Nobody can look at the guy’s phone.
I was alluding more to any public postings on the internet.
By not revealing the perp’s ID, the police are restricting access to PUBLIC RECORDS.
Perhaps you are correct, and the guy was merely a deranged stalker.
But in light of recent shooter events, questions need to be asked.
IIRC, there were hints that the web postings of the Oregon community college shooter had been edited after he was dead.
