I used to like Ryan--back when he talked like a Conservative philosophically; was delighted when he was nominated for Vice President in 2012.

Of course, he looked stupid in the debate with Joe Biden; but I overlooked that.

Now he is systematically self-destructing. I do not know whether he is getting some very, very bad advice--as to how to garner good publicity;--or has developed a brain tumor; or has some other explanation for calling attention to himself daily, in a manner that clearly hurts his acceptability among other Republicans. But it obviously does him no good.

It is all very sad. But the damage will not be easily reversed. He is clearly neither as bright nor as principled as once he seemed.
