I guess if the judge is an anchor baby of illegal aliens he would have a different perspective than a citizen of generations of Americans, wouldn’t he?

According to the Constitution, he would not be a citizen.

Somehow the idea that being born in the U.S. of parents who are not citizens makes you a citizen was created by our rulers. It was specifically forbidden by the 14th amendment.

From the beginning, I had a feeling Trump knew ALLL about this situation — from the beginning. He was just waiting to pounce.

As McConnell says — we all came from somewhere. idiot

I know someone who is a strident defender of illegal aliens (and a Trump hater) and I wonder about this person's parents also.

Mr. Trump is NOT dumb. Not only is he aware of the facts, he has his methods of teaching others how to use the facts. He chose business, but from his educational perspective - he would have been an excellent professor. His students learn....from experience. :)

If true, this could give Trump a hammer to pound on the “anchor baby” controversy and get some changes made.

The 14th Amendment was passed to eliminate citizenship challenges to freed slaves, not to hand out U.S. citizenship to trespassers and tourists.

I believe Congress could pass a “clarifying resolution” and fix the problem overnight?

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

As asked in a related thread, whatever federal law that Trump University allegedly broke, is the law constitutionally justified under one of Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers?

I keep thinking that if Trump University dealt with students through contracts, then consider this. A previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that Congress’s Commerce Clause power (1.8.3) does not extend to regulating contracts, in this example regardless if such contracts dealt with students not domiciled in NY.

”4. The issuing of a policy of insurance is not a transaction of commerce within the meaning of the latter of the two clauses, even though the parties be domiciled in different States, but is a simple contract [emphases added] of indemnity against loss.” — Paul v. Virginia, 1869. (The corrupt feds have no Commerce Clause (1.8.3) power to regulate contracts.)

Corrections, insights welcome.

I sense that Trump is not pushing the background of Judge Gonzalo Curiel for a reason. I sense a strategy in sitting back and letting things come out to vindicate his case. If anything, the emerging story reminds me of a boil that is gathering in pus and when it explodes, it will make quite a mess.

This article is pure speculation with absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support the entitled premise. From the Article:

"Charles C. Johnson put up documents showing that Curiel's father crossed the U.S. border with Mexico at least twice and might not have become a U.S. citizen.

He also published images of the death certificates of the judge's parents that apparently show no Social Security number.

"GotNews.com can find no evidence that Curiel's parents ever became U.S. citizens. For all we know, Judge Curiel is an anchor baby," he wrote

Crossing the border "at least two times" is not illegal. Indeed, there are thousands of Mexicans who legally cross the border on a weekly or monthly basis to shop, and many of them have crossed the border hundreds of times.

Not becoming a Unites States Citizen is also not illegal. I know people who legally entered the country and became lawful permanent residents.

Just checked my mother's death certificate and there is no social security number on the certificate.

The article is really awful and establishes nothing.
