What's true and false about the reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Disney Panic/Spin)
Entertainment Weekly ^ | Posted June 3, 2016 | Anthony Breznican

Over the past week, numerous stories have emerged about reshoots on the first of the Star Wars stand-alone films, and fans have become as nervous and confused as C-3PO at a Star Trek convention. High level sources at Lucasfilm, speaking to EW anonymously, offered some details that place the schedule in context. (Official studio sources declined comment, saying they don’t respond to rumors.)

Basically, the film is being rewritten by not one, but TWO "Script Doctors," Christopher McQuarrie, who helped "fix" World War Z, one of the worst films ever made which focused on the United Nations' response to the plague Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz-- and Tony Gilroy, who was brought on to "enhance the story," which means it was as boring as World War Z.

2nd, the movie was panned so hideously it is undergoing months of hurried and expensive reshoots before the release date. In this article from Disney they explain that rewriting and reshooting a movie is "standard practice." Yes, it's that bad.

Given that Disney just made Captain America a Nazi:

You've got a Star Wars Director saying:

"You look around the room and see the whitest f&^%$&# room in history of time. It's just unbelievably white. And I thought, we're casting this show and have an opportunity to do anything we want, why not just cast the show with actors of color?"-- J. J. Abrams, Director Star Wars The Force Awakens

And now, Red Skull is Donald Trump:

You'll excuse me if I don't agree that Disney has very good judgement.

But I'm sure the Disney folks are scratching their heads, since they have their fingers on the pulse of America-- Rogue One has everything the American people want: empowered women, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, White Nazi villians -- what's not to like?????

Hey, since Forest Whittaker is in the Star Wars, Rogue One movie, what am I reminded of... oh yeah:

I'll be sitting this one out.

The insular baffoons at Disney are trying to shove artificial PC fertilizer down our throats. People are fed up. This is true in all Hollyweird. The money folks have more of a world view and are telling the creators to knock it off because they don’t want to lose money. Interracial Rey and Finn is cool because is seemed a natural flow. The recent Harry Potter nonsense is ridiculous and the people close to it don’t understand why. So this perversion of transiness is going to backfire. Preaching at folks on a movie will result in rejection.

TFA was suck a let down, I will not see another one in the theater.

Making Cap Hydra, and trying to make Red Skull (evil) anti invader in Germany isn’t going to play out the way the narrative wants.

When you are labeled evil no matter what you do, some starting thinking “Well, I might as well BE evil!”

That may be the goal, but many seem to forget that Westerners are VERY good at fighting once they decide to go all in. Which hasn’t happened since 1945.

Huh. Pity, as the Rogue One story looks like it could have been interesting if done right. I’d have liked to see the events that led up to Leia escaping with the DS plans, the things the Rebellion went through to become the threat they represented by New Hope, and so on.

And if Red Skull isn’t just saying those things as a way of recruiting new followers, but instead actually considers those opinions to be valid, then that’s interesting. The message there is that those opinions are to be considered evil, and by extension anyone else who holds those opinions is just as bad as he is. And further, that that perception is being pushed on the reader, as a way of surreptitiously molding the reader’s opinion to oppose such beliefs. Heck, if that’s really Hydra’s actual position on the “Refugee” invasion, then Hail Hydra.

And if that’s why Cap is saying Hail Hydra there, then that’s not such a bad thing.

I’d vote for the Hydra candidate.

Might even put a bumper sticker on the car. I Think they would sell.

Hail Hydra.

Agree. I must be channeling the Red Skull because those are my exact same thoughts.

Donald Trump has a running mate. He'll win in November by double digits.

Hey. "Battlefield Earth" wasn't that bad compared to the
Star Wars movie. At least it was worth a few laughs.
The last Star Wars movie (I wish it was the last) was obvious
PC propaganda, predictable and boring. I only went because my son
wanted to go see it and someone else purchased my ticket.

The latest Star Wars movie was supposed to make 5 billion dollars. I remember when the very first still photo teaser came out, and it was--

And I remember thinking... hey... that's great.. I saw it once and that was it. No DVD. It has crawled up to 2 billion dollars in sales. I wonder why it was a stinker? Now this Rogue One comes, and there's just no way. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 12 times, shame on me. Hail Hydra

Someone REALLY needs to clean house at Disney especially considering what they’re doing to Captain America AND Red Skull, to say little about Star Wars.

Oh, and as far as Rogue One, this is looking pretty bad. I was sorely tempted to see it (though even if I did, considering the bombshell of who George Lucas based the Rebel Alliance on, I can’t root for the good guys and instead must root for the Empire. Shame, because I really loved Rogue Squadron), but not anymore after reading how much of a mess development is at, not to mention the pushing of the multi-cultural agenda.

And that pic of Forrest Whittaker as a Rebel is giving me a very bad vibe that they’re probably going to pull something akin to the infamous rave scene from The Matrix Reloaded (which was worse since Rogue One’s geared towards kids, while the guys who did Reloaded at least had the decency to rate that movie R for that scene among others). The background just reminds me of when Morpheus gave that speech and then it entered that Harlem-esque rave.

I’m doing edits on Wookieepedia, and... well, considering that we just got two confirmed Rogue One-related supplementary media cancellations in only a span of almost a week... something tells me Disney or LucasFilm Ltd. or whoever is doing the film even knows that the film’s most likely going to flop. I simply cannot imagine why they’d cancel two products within the same week (and one of them, the Rebel Alliance Field Manual for Rogue One, was cancelled specifically because the publisher lost its license). We probably should note this.

For the record, the two cancelled products are Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: The Official Visual Story Guide, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: Rebel Alliance Field Manual.
