NYC gets OK to issue salt fines during appeal

New York City plans to start enforcing a first-of-its-kind requirement for chain restaurants to use icons to warn patrons of salty foods after getting an appeals court's go-ahead Thursday to start issuing fines. But it's not the final word on whether the regulation will stand.

The novel rule took effect in December, and some eateries already have added the requisite salt-shaker-like icons to menu items that contain more salt than doctors recommend ingesting in an entire day.

“Next we’ll (men, obviously) have to sit down to pee.”

Interesting you say that because the feminazi-controlled media and educational system have been grooming the boys to feel shame if they ‘don’t put the seat down’.

Case in point: a few years back I was waiting in someone’s home and happened to see a cartoon about SpongeBob. To some music the lyrics kept going on and on saying “Don’t be a jerk, leave the seat down”.

The obvious message being: if you don’t deny yourself and accommodate the girls, you’re a jerk.

This is a cartoon geared for pre-school/early Elementary level kids. Couldn’t believe it.

Hey! You HAVE TO defecate in the street in NY ...

They can’t figure out which restaurant (er, restroom) to use and what the restroom will be called without getting fined by the NY thoughtless police.

So everyone prefers the same amount of salt? Peppers? Horseradish? I don’t think so.

People that have too low blood pressure need salt in their diet.

Well maybe one person’s salt taste is different than the chef’s salt taste. Just saying.

Everyone has different tastes and should be able to add condiments as they wish. I add hot sauce to dishes that may be considered perfectly cooked to someone else.

***...it is ok to pee and defecate on the street but not ok to eat salty food. ***

I understand the reasoning behind this! If you eat SALTY food, you get thirsty and drink lots of liquids. Then you have to go pee.

So in order to clean up NYC they ban salt so you won’t pee on the streets, which is legal!

Now if they would just ban bulk foods and give out vitamin and energy pills...

The obvious message being: if you don’t deny yourself and accommodate the girls, you’re a jerk.

There's a less obvious meassage -- "Don't bother lifting the seat before you stand there to pee. Let the ones who want a dry seat wipe it off themselves." :=)

Salt in your blood stream is regulated by the adrenal gland.

Not any more. That's the job of the Mayor.

Because everyone knows that bureaucrats are so much better at glandular duties than, say, glands.

Salt is added to the food you ARE COOKING to enhance flavor...adding salt AFTER you cook is not only unhealthy, but it’s a slap in the face of the cook.

People have different tastes. Not everyone likes their food with the same flavors and whatnot.

I’m not saying that. I’m saying to prohibit salt, is craziness. Why not prohibit sugar? 9 tsps. of sugar in a coke. Diabetes II kills more people than breast cancer.

I can’t imagine cooking without salt.
