NASA has revealed that a massive hole, measuring more than ten per cent of the Sun's surface area, has opened up on our star.

Some of us think that the Earth is large because there are a lot of things on it and it would take us a long time to walk around it (we'd actually have to be good swimmers or boaters too).

However, the size of the Earth is small when compared to the Sun. We are just a little dot compared to Sun.

We even have some fellow planets that are much large than us. Check this comparison out.

The mechanisms involved are actually very well understood.

Short version: the center of mass of the solar system is closely aligned with the center of mass of the sun (largely due to the locations of Jupiter and Saturn). Thus, tidal forces in the sun are lower, resulting in less energy output.

This generally leads to a Mauder type minimum and massive cooling on Earth.

Of course, the LSM doesn’t address this because it counters their religion of anthropomorphic global warming.

Russian astrophysicist are all over this. Have been for years. US ones? Not so much. Not much funding in it since NASA is in charge of AGW cultists thanks to Obama.

It’s not a concern as to the sun burning out or changing permanently. But Coronal Mass Ejections are always a possibility.
