A teenage prankster has fooled scores of art lovers into believing his glasses were a modern masterpiece in a hilarious stunt at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. TJ Khayatan, 17, was visiting the gallery with friends on Monday when he said he was left unimpressed by some of the modern art on display. He even described one lackluster exhibit as little more than a 'stuffed animal on a gray blanket'. '(We) questioned if this was really impressive to some of the nearby people,' he told Buzzfeed News.

Love or hate Howard Stern - he did some modern art paintings and put them next to other modern art exhibits and asked “experts” to judge.

And he got high marks.

He went on to say he has absolutely no talent and his art was utter crap.

I love to tell this story. When I was taking art classes at Glassel Art School in Houston, our painting class was taken to a gallery to see a new exhibit.

A girl had taken dead tree branches , stood them up in the middle of the room and hung rubber chickens from the branches.

Try to imagine my disgust at this waste of time.

Too much modern art is produced to advance cultural Marxism - i.e., make crap and get all of the "hip" critics to praise it, in order to discredit and marginalize genuine, uplifting art.

Ellsworth Toohey would hate this kid. :)

Stern did a great bit when the libs paraded commie Nelson Mandela around the country after he got out of prison. He sent his guy out on the street with a mic and asked random people what that guy ever did. No one knew except one person who said he was a commie.

“He went on to say he has absolutely no talent and his art was utter crap.’

Thereby making the artsy crowd want it even more.

Ranks right up there with the photo of the Potato that sold for over Million and the art work that was half black and half white that was also called “art”.

These people that think they are so highborn that they see things that are beyond the understanding of mere mortals just blow my mind.

Well, the photographer and the artist made some money.
They did it the new fashioned way: they sold something to “art snobs” hopefully left-wingers who now have less money to spend on their pet causes.

What is “Necklacing”?

Step 1 - chop off someone's hands (or tie their hands behind their back.)
Step 2 - put a rubber tire around someone's neck (the necklace)
Step 3 - pour diesel into the bottom of the tire
Step 4 - Light the diesel.

Popular with some drug gangs and in black Africa.

The end comment about the blank canvas by Rauschenberg reminds me I saw a similar blank white canvas in some museums modern art exhibit years ago. I have no idea who it was by. Might have been Raushenberg for all I recall. The thing is any of us could have done the same with a can of white paint and a paint roller if we wanted to actually paint the canvas. There is the very very rare modern art piece I come across I like but I find them more amusing than true works of art. The vast majority are worthless IMHO.

Great video. That "Levitating Rock" at the LA museum is certainly ridiculous. A similar work of "art" would be a rock sitting at the bottom of a pool of water, and calling it "Floating Rock". Utterly moronic and worthless "art".

In college, my 2nd semester Art History final included a Jackson Pollack "painting". I refused to simply regurgitate the nonsense the professor had spouted about it in lecture, and instead wrote an essay saying that I found it laughable that anyone actually considered Pollack's work "art". I got a "C" in the class, mostly because I probably got a 0 on that final exam question. But it was worth it. After two semesters of Art History, where we looked at some of the greatest masterpieces of painting and sculpture from the Greeks up through the Impressionists, I just could not bring myself to give Pollack's paint splatters any credence.
