Johns Hopkins Psychiatrist: Transgender is ‘Mental Disorder;' Sex Change ‘Biologically Impossible’

Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.

Dr. McHugh, the author of six books and at least 125 peer-reviewed medical articles, made his remarks in a recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, where he explained that transgender surgery is not the solution for people who suffer a “disorder of ‘assumption’” – the notion that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to them biologically.

The transgendered person’s disorder, said Dr. McHugh, is in the person’s “assumption” that they are different than the physical reality of their body, their maleness or femaleness, as assigned by nature. It is a disorder similar to a “dangerously thin” person suffering anorexia who looks in the mirror and thinks they are “overweight,” said McHugh.

In my opinion, I do not think that Target's bathroom mirrors are going to magically give an ordered appearance to an individual with a disordered assumption.

I have read extensively on Dr. McHugh. He is the foremost authority on delusional “ assumption’ or assuming a gender or a specie that you are not in fact. The reason his scientific conclusions are so important is that we have government policy accommodating mentally ill people at the expense of the sane. It needs to be changed quickly before women and children are raped and molested. There is a mentally deranged woman who thinks she is a cat in Austin Texas. Do they need to have litter boxes at Target?

Well, Dr. McHugh better be ready for the onslaught of the “politically correct” intelligentsia who are going to say he is senile, demented, and off his rocker...

It's already out there.

They’re already saying he’s discredited because he’s a Catholic. Seriously. They’re saying he’s smuggling his *dogma* into the discussion -— when it’s his *science* they can’t tolerate.

I’m sure that Dr. McHugh is old enough to no long need to work...because he soon may not have an option - given this fascist bunch.

“...that sex change is “biologically impossible,””

But, genital cosmetic surgery is possible!

Some "old soldiers" do not simply fade away...They fight on until they are put under...

I find the biggest advantage of being almost 83 is that, outside of family and God, them that don't like my opinions can stuff it where the sun never shines.

As a Christian I'd expect my "dogma" to shape my world-view, and discussions of any serious issues. As it does the God-hating atheists who we amazingly allow to have such a large megaphone in today's society. Their dogma permeates the hallways of Academia, Entertainment-Media, and Government. And we allow it, and pretend that it is not 'dogma'.

At Johns Hopkins, after pioneering sex-change surgery, we demonstrated that the practice brought no important benefits. As a result, we stopped offering that form of treatment in the 1970s. Our efforts, though, had little influence on the emergence of this new idea about sex, or upon the expansion of the number of “transgendered” among young and old.

Now hold on there.
It is biologically possible to have a sex change or will be soon ... they head transplants (is it a head transplant or a body transplant?)

As soon as the transgender agenda is complete, they will launch into pedophilia, another mental disorder. For them, reality is what you feel and science, the scientific method and Natural Law are for those people who read books. If a twenty-one-year-old feels as if they are a 65 year-old in a twenty-one-year-old body, they are eligible for Social Security. You are what you feel and damn the science.

I read last week that doing a head transplant is a very risky procedure. It seems as if the brain, not used to the body it has become accustomed to will go into a psychological meltdown. The reality of genetics has made sure of that.

Cosmetic being the key word. cos·met·ic /käzˈmedik/ adjective adjective: cosmetic 1. involving or relating to treatment intended to restore or improve a person's appearance. You make my point. How one appears to self or others is how the assumption is made and whether the appearance is ordered or disordered. Love comes in at the eyes. Love of and for anything, self or other. Those light photons taken in by the lenses of the eyes have to pass through a brain and be processed. That organic brain matter would dissolve into mush if determining factors were not introduced at specific times whether they be nature or nurture. Looking and seeing can be different things. The information in DNA is stored as a code made up of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). Human DNA consists of about 3 billion bases, and more than 99 percent of those bases are the same in all people. One could say life is ordered pattern until there is a disruption in the pattern. Cause of disruption can be immeasurable with 3 billion bases however the base pairs are set up in the individual and existence begins then one must learn to act, speak, write, tie shoes. Depending on who and what one's visual stimulus is will determine what acting, speaking, writing and type of shoe tying is learned and mimicked. Unless one is born blind visual stimulus is how one normally will learn, by seeing and mimicking what is seen. I wonder how many assumption disordered people are blind? ----------------------------------------------------------- First principles, simplicity. Read Marcus Aurelius, "Of each particular thing, ask: What is it in itself? What is its nature?"...... he covets. That's his nature. And how do we begin to covet, .... We begin by coveting what we see every day.. ..... And don't your eyes seek out the things you want? ----Hannibal Lecter

Nope. It has been his position for years. He has the science. It is why Hopkins no longer does such surgeries
