Donald Trump Will Hurt Gun Sales / Vanity
Vanity

Posted on 05/20/2016 7:55:19 AM PDT by chopperman

The best thing that helps gun sales is when a Democrat gets elected. This is especially so since the gun grabbers have taken over their party. When the NRA chooses to endorse Trump, they will be sending the Dems a message. That message is that the NRA does not represent the OEMs as the Dems claim. They'll be exposing that lie far and wide. The fears of the populace against an overbearing central government will actually cause a decline in sales.

Ironically, Donald's election will actually accomplish what the Dems couldn't. It'll put the brakes on the amount of guns out there.

Frankly, whether it impedes or advances gun sales in this country isn’t what matters to me. What MATTERS to me is that sales of or an American’s ability to own a gun of his choosing isn’t hampered in any way.

I doubt it. If elected, we will have a patriot president. We will still have the fascist bureaucracy to deal with.

Hitlery would prohibit gun sales.

Maybe I can find 22LR and 22 Shorts at a reasonable price and quantity again?

I think the cat is out of the bag. People who buy guns will keep buying guns, especially when the supply increases (and as a result variety in terms of realistically available caliber, etc).

I didn't have my finger on the pulse of firearm prices until comparatively recently (past 4 years or so), but the prices of many types of firearms have gone up. It would be nice to get a Mosin for under $400, or for .223 ammo to not be 40 cents a round.

In my situation, I never felt a need for a weapon until that traitor occupied the White House.

So demand goes down, supplies go up, prices fall, and I can then afford to buy more. What’s not to like?

I don’t think the NRO should outright support anyone.

Their members are smart enough to know who their friends and enemies are.

Good. Maybe ammo prices will come down some.

After obama, I figured everyone was pretty well stocked up. If not, they probably should do so before the conventions or at least before Nov.

Well... there may be some good news, Trump supports a ban for assualt weapons and longer waiting times for gun purchases according to what he wrote in a book.

I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record. Source: The America We Deserve, by Donald Trump, p.102 , Jul 2, 2000

In fairness... that was 15 or 16 years ago, I dont where he is on it today.

The manufacturers will just have to build better guns to keep the market interested. I think suppressors have the potential to become huge if Trump is elected. The hearing protection act will be passed and they will be stripped out of the NFA and you’ll be able to buy them at Wal Mart just like they were any other firearm. The market will be absolutely enormous.

Meanwhile, liberals are moving ever forward banning more and more. For example, the California state senate crowed as they banned ‘loopholes’ and ‘exceptions’ and required even more firearms to be registered. Of course, they used the excuse of Islamic terrorism (San Bernardino) for this effort - their co-conspirators in the media of course did not mention that none of these requirements would have changed that event - the guns were purchased by another, were never registered under the previous law, and of course, were already illegal.

Like always, the only ones affected by these rules are law abiding citizens - an ever shrinking group.

Maybe.

Don has a real mixed history on guns, like everything else. He has lots of conflicting statements.

Who knows what he really believes?

PROTECTING OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

Donald J. Trump on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.

The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.

It’s been said that the Second Amendment is America’s first freedom. That’s because the Right to Keep and Bear Arms protects all our other rights. We are the only country in the world that has a Second Amendment. Protecting that freedom is imperative. Here’s how we will do that:

Defend The Rights of Law-Abiding Gun Owners

GUN AND MAGAZINE BANS. Gun and magazine bans are a total failure. That’s been proven every time it’s been tried. Opponents of gun rights try to come up with scary sounding phrases like “assault weapons”, “military-style weapons” and “high capacity magazines” to confuse people. What they’re really talking about are popular semi-automatic rifles and standard magazines that are owned by tens of millions of Americans. Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own.

this was heavily excerpted. You can read the whole policy position at the link if you like.

Donald Trump gets it from what I can tell.

It’s going to be the year of canoes and boats resurfacing. Lost boats being found will impact boat sales too?
