Egypt's tourism industry 'one disaster from being finished' after MS804 crash, say experts
UK Daily Mail ^ | May 19, 2016 | Qin Xie

After a decade of political turmoil and the downing of a holiday jet last year, tourism in Egypt was left in a desperate state - so will the MS804 tragedy sound the death knell for the industry? Figures from February this year show that visitor numbers to Egypt practically halved and the average number of nights spent in the country is down by 67.2 per cent compared to 2015. The country's tourism industry, says one expert, is now one disaster away from being finished altogether.

If you boycott Muslim countries, there are many fabulous places you’ll never see...

And if you don't, there may be many more...
What a silly statement!

Well, what’s another 10s of millions of muzzies pushing toward Europe when the lights go out in Egypt...

If you think avoiding travel to Muslim countries somehow halts the spread of Islam, you’re deluding yourself. Western influence has actually resulted in moderation in many Islamic states in the past.

Plenty of other fabulous places to see, without worrying about having your head cut off.

Speaking of delusions, that is a fabulous one.

The object of the exercise for most normal would be tourists is survival, not "halting the spread of islam."

What planet do you come from?

Traveled extensively in Muslim areas in Asia and the ME and never have been anywhere where decapitation was a risk...

You said, and I quote: “And if you don’t, there may be many more...”

I read this as you saying there would be many more Muslim countries. What did you actually mean?

"Why would anyone go to a Muslim country in the first place?"

I'll tell you why........

In the fall of 2011, I went on a fabulous Christian oriented tour called "Where It All Began" that included Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. It was fascinating to follow the path of the Israelites out of Egypt, to see Petra in Jordan where it is believed that the Jews spoken of in the book of Revelation will hide out, and of course to see all the places in Israel that we have read about in the Bible since we were little kids, some of which are now inside Palestinian-run territory.

One thing that I learned that many of you closed-minded people will never understand, is that among the Muslim people in these countries, there are some really decent people. They are not all radical murdering, hordes. Some have never read the Koran and do not know that it advocates violence and death to the infidel. Some of them will even convert to Christianity during their lifetime. Many of them were very kind to us and the women especially loved hearing about America. There are also many Christians in all these countries. All our guides were Christians (Coptic Christians in Egypt and Orthodox in Jordan.

I’m convinced, based on their comments, that most Freepers don’t even have passports.

If you DO boycott koranimal countries you can live a lot longer to visit the other 95% of the wonders throughout the world where the death lottery odds are not as high.
Is that clear enough?

It’s clear from your comments, by the way, that you haven’t traveled much. Maybe you should get out and see the world—it might give you some new perspective.

"...among the Muslim people in these countries, there are some really decent people...."

I'm sure there are, but they follow a pedophilic, homicidal death cult that wants to lop my head off and rape my daughter.

Sadly, that's a deal breaker for me; I guess I am hateful and ignorant.

Oh, and those nice muslims are at risk of murder from the bad muslims solely for being...nice.

There's nor "of course" about it. Maybe most Freepers inferred that properly, but reading some responses shows that many more did not.

I have nothing against individual choices; suicidal or not.
I do resent those who chide others for not accepting the risk level that they choose for themselves.

For instance, I once chose to rent a pilot and ultralight to tour an area of interest to me, and survived. If I ever had the opportunity to do that again in the Nazca Desert I would do so. But I would never belittle anyone else who chose not to.
On another occasion I traveled in a large Cessna twin from the pacific to the Caribbean three weeks before that same aircraft crashed with the loss of all aboard.

As individuals, we have absolutely the right to make our choices and take our chances.

June 4, 2009... is when Obama gave his "New Beginning" speech in Cairo.

He then began to meddle in Egyptian politics, stirring up riots and uprisings in order to oust the legitimate leader and usher in a new Muslim Brotherhood leadership.

And it's been going downhill in the whole region ever since.

Yep, I have the book (PDF). Haven’t read it yet, though, watching it happen in real time...
