Update following my accident.
For nearly 6 weeks I was strapped into an "iron maiden" of a back brace. Wore it all day, and had to sleep sitting up in a recliner. Two weeks ago the doctor said I could take it off at night and sleep in bed. This week the doctor said I could take if off for good.
Yesterday I overdid it. Tried to get back to my exercises, and walked to and from Mass. Result: exhausted all day.
Today I walked to Mass, but rode home with my wife. Feel much better. Still some pain, but tolerable.
Thanks to all for prayers and well-wishes. I'm not fully recovered yet, but I'm getting better.
I’m glad healing has started. Just take it easy. Nice and slow.
Thanks for the update. Take it easy. ((hugs))
O wow didn’t know about this. Sorry to hear. Sure will keep you in prayers BUT you also have to take it easy until you come to a complete recovery.
Glad to hear you are better!
May God bless you and yours.
I'm 68 and I retired from getting up every day and doing something strenuous for someone else about three years ago and ... I have gotten pleasantly lazy, but painfully atrophied
Walk around your house or in the yard or up and down your street ... but I think walking is the best thing you can do
Thanx for the update and take your meds if it's painful
I use horse linement and Lidocaine ointment for my very weak and painful lower back ... either atrophied or sciatica ... whatever .... I push to be painful, take meds and a rub, and push some more
Sleep like a rock .... for about 4 hours .. tops
Good luck
Prayers for your full recovery.
[Prayers for your full recovery.]
In JESUS Name. Amen.
My humble apologies I forgot to add that.
I thought you were young
Praying that you continue to heal. Please take care of you!
One time I fell down some steps backwards. I noticed that time went a lot more slowly as I was falling. Did this happen to you?
Back pain is its own special sort of awful.
But look how far you’ve come since March!
I pray for continued improvement for you.
Had no idea you had hurt yourself. Glad to hear that you are doing better. May you continue to suffer less pain every day.
Best wishes going forward — from a former Naval Aviator

Don’t over do or it’ll set you back.
What a pain, I don’t think I could go thru that and maintain what little sanity I have left. Good luck to you.
When I was 16 I fell backward down a flight of stairs. Scared the bee-Jesus out of sisters, brother and parents.
I got up and walked away laughing.
I could not imagine surviving a fall like that today! ;-)
But yes, time seemed to move very slowly like in slow motion and it felt like I was falling forever.
I wish I lived that close to church, I really do.
I would do so much more there.
Thank you for the update. Glad you are doing better.
