What Was Ted Cruz Trying To Accomplish By Confronting Trump Supporters?

Posted on 05/02/2016 10:39:13 PM PDT by GLDNGUN

Desperate men do desperate things. This was more sinister than meets the eye.

The Spirit of Lee Atwater Appears In Indiana?…
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2016/05/02/the-spirit-of-lee-atwater-appears-in-indiana/

The decision of Ted Cruz to make this a campaign stunt has the finger prints and aura of Atwater/Rove all over it.

Except he has done this the whole campaign. Debated those who disagreed with him at various campaign events. This is just another example of the Trumpeteers seeing evil in everyone non-trump.

You are delusional. Cruz as usual told half truths or outright lies. He is a master at continuing to lie and twist when correct information is on Trump’s website. And where were you that you missed the 11 debates already done? Time to face it America rejects the lying, Canadian born Cruz.

I thought the pro-Trump protestor did a pretty good job debating Cruz, asking relevant albeit impolite questions and using Cruz’s theatrical pauses against him.

If that was a set up designed to make Cruz look good, it failed miserably.

“If I were Donald Trump, I wouldn’t have come over and talked to you. You know what I would have done? I would have told the folks over there, ‘Go over and punch those guys in the face.’ That’s what Donald does to protesters.”

Which is why he went over there; to show he isn't Trump. I doubt it did any good in the long or short run but he is right in that Trump would have handled it differently.

Forgotten how to take the high road, it looks to me.

I dunno what he was thinking. He should have continued to run for president, instead he has tried to compete in 'Who wants to be America's next president'...and it hasn't gone well. The high road...the road less traveled...no one there, but he couldn't resist...

Watch the reaction when Morning Joe shows the clip of Cruz confronting the Trump supporter.....

5:42 Minutes – the panel reacts at 7:05 min mark- Hilarious!

Cruz throws everything against the wall

LOL. They are mocking the snot out of Cruz. "Good ground game," "race is tied."

After the snips of interaction with the Trump supporter, Mika says, "I want more, why did you cut it off." Whoever edited the exchange was brutal, got the best jabs from the Trump supporter. "America is a better country ..." "without you." "A question everybody here should ask ..." "are you Canadian."

Mika, "This is what you wanted, to stop Trump?" Shouldn't have gone negative on the ten year old (reference to the young heckler). At least it wasn't a Gary Bauer moment, nobody fell off the stage.

Merciless mockery of Cruz.

Thanks for the link.

THAT made my morning, When!!

Loved it....I missed DVRing Morning Joe, so I very much appreciate this great clip, from this morning’s show. They - Mika, Joe and the panel - had a ball with the cRuz recent gaffes.

Sounds like they are ready to sign up the Trump protester, who cRuz confronted....”Are you Canadian? The guys timing is impeccable”.

Great stuff. Thanks much.

Cruz is an “outside the box” thinker and fighter.

Brilliant move.

Ted Cruz IS who people think Donald Trump is. I’m praying that he will be our next president.

You aren’t, by chance, an official cRuz advisor, are you? Just curious.

-- I would like a link to this statement. --

The one Cruz made, that related to Trump advocating the punching of opponents?

And Cruz touted his willingness to debate with the man, hitting Trump's suggestion that he'd pay a supporter's legal fees for punching a protester in the face this February.

"Donald Trump is a New York liberal who will take away your Second Amendment rights. This man is lying to you. And he's taking advantage of you," Cruz said. "And I would encourage you, sir, look I appreciate your being out here speaking. If I were Donald Trump, I wouldn't have come over and talked to you. I wouldn't have shown you that respect. In fact, you know what I would've done, I would've told the folks over there, go over and punch those guys in the face. That's what Donald does to protesters."

The whole exchange is worth watching, although there isn't anything new in it. The Trump supporter said, in response to the "Trump tells his supporters to punch opponents" that Cruz was lying. Cruz went on and argued "the facts," what Trump said in that rally where an agitator threw a tomato, and said that was proof for the general assertion. same pattern of "you lie," "no I don't, here's the evidence" on a few other issues. I don't know if there is a transcript of the entire 7 or so minutes, and just got lucky on finding the piece you were looking for.

Beck is “only” 6’2”. It’s O’Reilly who is 6’4”, giving the lie to Irish stereotypes.

Eric Trump is also 6’4”. The Donald is 6’2”, Don Jr is 6’1”, and Melania and Ivanka are the shrimpy ones in the family at 5’11”.

I think Cruz was fishing for an assault.

That's how that bunch of wacko lawyers in the Westboro Baptist Church support themselves. Provoke violence and then sue.

I’m sorry, I feel sorry for Cruz here. He is respectful and trying to have a conversation with the guy, and the people are rude.

I don’t like many of the things Ted has done, but I’d like Donald to get more respect than Ted got there.

I agree that Ted should have more respect than was shown here. It was unusual to see this panel go off the rails, so to speak. They are usually a serious bunch.

Did you hear the part where Cruz says, “You’ve got to ask yourself one question” and someone in he crowd says, “Are you Canadian?” LOL

That was a great moment! Judging by speech patterns, these were "working-class" people, yet they seemed very well informed about both candidates. Cruz is a true believer in debating; but they weren't having it. I guess Cruz thinks he can prevail over foreign leaders with debating and making spurious claims like he is doing here, then doing chickens**t manipulations behind the scenes like he is doing with the delegates. Yeah, right.
