My guess would be that the 25% of the faculty who are not white would include a lot of Asians and some Hispanics...they would not all be black.

It's normally hard to fire a tenured professor, unless the university can claim financial necessity. The decline in enrollment could be used as a way to reduce faculty numbers--but targeting white professors to improve the ratio.

Maybe they can stop the decline in student numbers by aggressively recruiting out-of-state minority students (with in-state tuition, or free tuition).

That 25% of the U of Missouri-Columbia faculty that is not white is of course mainly Asian, the U of Missouri faculty i s16.67% Asian.
