A boisterous welcome greeted the first American visitors to walk out the Sierra Maestra cruise terminal.
Several hundred Cubans gathered in Plaza de San Francisco to witness the historic arrival.
"I am here just to see it," said Mayalin Suarez Rubio, 41, a Cuban whose daughter lives in Hialeah. "We say welcome."

See, you CAN still talk about Cruz on this forum.
Maybe they are planning to stow away on the cruise ship when nobody’s looking. Somebody create a big diversion!
These people are nuts, they say they want to see Cuba before it changes
Just like Mexico...Ahhhhhh American dollars!!
Not really. They were “welcoming” what these clowns are carrying in their wallets. I wish they would test these clowns before they allowed to come back into the states to find out what diseases they are bringing back.
Eurotrash are never going to get over the price of sex tourism doubling then tripling.
Poverty tourism
More people than were present to watch Obummer disbar from AF1.
“HELLO! GIMME YOUR MONEY!”
Yep I’ve heard about that. Some people want to see Cuba now, before Starbucks and McDonalds and Hilton and Marriott and all the rest arrive to “spoil” it.
I’ve even heard some old car enthusiasts want to go there, to see all of the 1950s era cars still on the road in Cuba.
They love the Communist tyrants but have enough money to go on a cruise.
Liberals are sick.
Sadly I’ve heard there’s a lot.of sex tourism to Cuba. Its because so many people in Cuba are so poor they send their wives and daughters to do that work. And they want to consort with foreign men, who bring hard currency. The workers paradise of Cuba has stores which don’t accept Cuban money but only deal in hard currency such as American dollars.
cuba could become the heart of the Caribbean toilet paper trade
Make some runs to Venezuela and become rich rich rich
Yup. And one of Castro’s promises was to end all that prostitution that was bringing in American tourists.
It’s worse now, since the hotels are owned by the state, the girls have to bring the eurotrash home to mom and dad’s house to conduct their trade.
I bet some of those who greeted that cruise ship intend to pay a crew member to help them stow away for the return trip to Miami-I hope they do it-that will make the Castros look like complete fools...
“The workers paradise of Cuba has stores which dont accept Cuban money but only deal in hard currency such as American dollars.”
The staff of all the hotels, stores, etc. are employees of the Cuban government. All transactions are in foreign currency which must be turned in to the government. The staff is then paid in worthless cuban pesos.
Everyone these tourists meet will also be employees of the cuban state.
You’d have to be crazy to open a business there. As soon as it gets successful and is fully stocked it will be nationalized:-)
There's something to that. I'm sorry that I never saw Berlin when it was divided. Now the only way to see how shabby the life was under the Communists is at the DDR Museum.

Holy caliente.....
I’ve heard that there will be girls greeting foreign men, and will be their “girlfriend” during their visit to Cuba.
