Time to clean out the locker…
I just dropped by to clean out the ol’ FR locker and to deliver a short missive.
As this primary season ends so does the forum participation of 100’s of former freepers. It has become very apparent that the owner, the moderators, and many current freepers feel very threaten by any opposition to their anointed candidate. Only a weak candidate will feel threatened by the opposition and stoop to gutter language and personal insults. We all know to whom I reference.
Donald has never been an individual I could support. This lack of support was one long before his presidential candidacy announcement. Donald is much like a novelty toy you purchase on impulse and it ends up at next year’s garage sale. Remember the Magic 8 Ball? Well, to me that’s Donald. Shake him with a question and you get one answer. Shake him again with the same question and you get a different answer. Yes, the novelty soon wears off.
Last parting thought…Should Donald become the republican nominee for president and actually become president remember this…it takes only one US senator to stop the government dead in its’ tracks. Remember that when your candidate makes vulgar and snarky comments about his presidential primary competition.
With the locker now empty and I depart FreeRepublic, I’ll leave the door open...not for my return, but for the multitude of individuals that are following my footsteps to brighter forums.
Not to pile on, but how on earth can anyone pretending to honesty have read FR over the last several months and concluded that only the other side was being rude?
Got me chuckling, I knew this thread would do that!
You Trump-haters who are having trouble accepting reality, and who want the GOPe to be involved in the nomination process, can go have a circle jerk with your blind hatred elsewhere.

Not long ago, Jimrob started a thread that suggested to me that he may support Cruz. I posted there why I was very much against Cruz.
Nobody insulted me for it.
Me thinks u have other issues.
Well, at least the Magic 8 Ball gives answers, even if inconsistent.
But Cruz doesn't even get that far as a Magic 8 Ball, sometimes no matter how many times you shake it, you NEVER get an answer...
While one could hope for Trump to be a kinder gentler kind of guy...well Bush and Romney both tried this and where did it get them? Further Cruz is not exactly a nice guy when it comes to competition, for a guy who says he is guided by principle, it is difficult to find more than 1 instance when his principle prevented him from doing something favorable to his own goals. honest observes have to admit Cruz is not all that different than trump when it comes to attacking.
As to Trumps criticism of the other candidates:
The end of the Cruz/Trump bormance was when Trump questioned Cruz’s NBC status. That followed the revelation that Cruz was bad talking trump in private to finance folks. This board went wild with Cruz folks saying how dare he question Cruz. If Trump folks were a bit hot under the collar, so were Cruz folks. Neither side was without sin.
It just got wilder after that with both sides getting involved in the muddy waters. Things reached a low with both sides of the spouse ads/twitters and subsequent affair allegations.
As of late, Cruz has been more of a dirt slinger than Trump. Sorry that is the truth. Last night he was trying to link Trump to Mike Tyson and saying that Tyson endorsing Trump was terrible and indicated how low Trump was, associating with a man who was convicted and did 3 years for a rape... But that occurred in 1991 and the endorsement came out of nowhere. Cruz and his minions are the ones attacking all the time, as of late Trump has shown a bit more restraint then the other side.
Fact is with the recent polls Cruz stands to get around 660 delegates, trump around 1330. That is two delegates for every one of Cruz’s, while I can respect Cruz for fighting until they are 200 Meters from his bunker, what it says about Cruz’s character is not good. The more folks look at Cruz the less they like him, except for a 20 to 30 % margin of folks that are diehard supporters.
I am sorry to see anyone depart this battle, and would hope that folks would see that the voters have spoken. If you cannot vote for Trump, well one must vote their conscience. But the reality is Cruz could have been the VP had he not been on a wild and not exactly realistic bid to take it all. If trump fails because the Cruz supporters refuse to vote for him, well that is life and we will all have to deal with it then.

I see the older posters moving away and to other sites.
And it is taking longer and longer to raise the funds that used to come easily. This should be the sign that there is a problem.
The vitriol and banal attacking is petty and childish and not found on other conservative sites.
Too bad. There used to be a time when I got all my news here and could spend a few hours a day getting tons of real information. Now I just read silliness and have moved to other sites where there are more grownups.
It occurred to me that this is like the Emmanuel Goldstein two minutes of hate on many of these threads.

Sorry you see him that way, but he's the presumptive nominee. That means if you want to stick around just to badmouth the man, you're only helping Hillary at this point.
So, please, don't help Hillary on this forum.
Ted Cruz has lost. Accept that and deal with the consequences. If you have nothing positive to say about Donald Trump, then you don't belong in this commiunity at the moment.
We're fighting a WAR here, and if all you can do is aid and abet the Enemy, don't be surprised if you're shown the door.
I trust Jim Robinson to make the right choice in every case, regarding his personal property, this forum..
