Target’s stock price and its favorability among shoppers are crashing as the public rebukes the retail giant for ignoring their vigorous protest against mixed-sex changing rooms and bathrooms.
The company’s stock was two cents shy of $84 on August 19, when it revealed it would not allow shoppers to use single-sex bathrooms or changing rooms. Instead, all rooms were opened up to anyone claiming to be of either sex. As of 4.00 p.m. Friday, the stock had dropped almost $4.50, down to $79.50.
That’s a huge loss of 5 percent in stock value, costing shareholders roughly $2.5 billion in company value.
In between those two dates, more than one million people had signed a boycott petition sponsored by the American Family Association. Public opinion also shifted strongly in favor of single-sex bathrooms.
The damage to Target’s favorability is also being tracked by YouGov’s BrandIndex service.

I tried to explain to her that Target's position says nothing about defining trans-gender. I said anyone can claim they self-identify as whatever. Having cracked the door to the restrooms open, both literally and figuratively, Target doesn't dare discriminate. Anyone can claim their gender identification, or their intent to transform. Who is Target to discriminate against the tranny who hasn't had the surgery yet? Or the hormones aren't quite working as well for? Or even the tranny that can't afford to replace his or her wardrobe just yet with clothing more appropriate to their selected gender? They can't. So literally anyone can claim whatever they want, no matter where they are on their journey, or if they even really are "transforming." It is an open invitation to perverts with a ready-made excuse/justification.
As we've noted here, perverts and freaks will take advantage of this. It is not if, it is only a matter of when and how badly it goes. The sad thing is, somewhere out there right now is some nice innocent person who will become a victim thanks in no small part to Target's corporate decision. This makes them accessories and slam-dunk legally liable for creating the environment for the attack, heck even aiding and abetting the pervert. They (Target) are completely exposed (pun intended) to civil damages including tremendous punitive damages. Depending on where this ultimately happens, an enterprising and aspiring AG might just go after Target's board with criminal charges as accessories. This could quite literally wipe them out.

Also field and stream stores are Dicks. They seem to be the way Dicks want to sell black rifles now, new name and hey this place is pro 2nd! Some of us aren’t fooled. And the Field and stream near us looks like it was stocked by someone who thinks they know what gunners want.

Are you sure that Target’s transgender policy is the cause of the stock decline? I ask because during that same time period Walmart is down 2.56%, Kohl’s is down 19%, Sears/Kmart is down 23.32%, and Macy’s is down 36.65%.
Aren’t all retail sales outlets having a rough time right now? I’m wondering just how much of this is due to the position that the store is taking on transgender bathroom access? Seems a bit early for the stock to be showing the effects of the boycott. I would like it to be so, but I’m thinking that there are other specific factors at play here.
The nearest Target is 1 hr away so a 2 hr drive, so not likely to shop there. Nor would I pay the higher prices over Walmart’s cheap same Chinese goods which is 22 miles round trip. If I wanted to pay higher prices on cheap Chinese goods I’d shop the Navy Exchange 24 miles round trip. I don’t eat at Mc’d’s either or Paneras. Your wallet is your only true way to boycott these offensive businesses that are catering to 2% of the population.

Hmph. Somehow I missed that. I did note that they no longer carry handguns.
WE have not graced the door of Dicks since they tried to pull a bait and switch on us at the register over some shotgun shells. I raised so much sand at the register they had to give us the deal but we never went back and shortly after that they screwed everyone over with the AR fiasco. Dick’s sucks.

The carbine was also a Dick’s exclusive, and Troy’s first complete rifle. But, following the Sandy Hook shooting, Dick’s has announced a suspension of all “modern sporting rifles” sales. This means the Troy Carbine.
While many assumed this suspension was going to be temporary, Dick’s has sent out notices to customers who placed back orders informing them that “Our records indicate you have placed an order for a Troy Carbine. At this time, we are unable to fulfill orders of this item. Your credit card will automatically be credited for the full purchase price or, if you paid by check, cash or debit, your refund check is enclosed.
