Industry Source: Prince Diagnosed With AIDS Weeks Before His Death
The Scottish Daily Record ^ | 18:51, 27 APR 2016 | BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN

ICONIC musician Prince was diagnosed with AIDS just weeks before his death, according to reports in the US.

An industry source interviewed by The National Enquirer messaged friends on April 19 to share that the singer was suffering from the disease.

It is said the singer was 'preparing to die' for weeks and the source claimed 'he was in bad shape'.

“Doctors told Prince his blood count was unusually low and that his body temperature had dropped dangerously below the normal 98.6 degrees to 94 degrees.

“He was totally iron-deficient, very weak and often disoriented.

"He rarely ate and when he did, it all came right back up.”

The magazine claims the Purple Rain star was diagnosed with AIDS six months ago after contracting the HIV positive virus “in the 1990s”.

However due to his Jehovah’s Witness faith he refused medical treatment instead believing he could be cured by pray.

“God can and will cure me,” he is alleged to have told friends.

Members of his faith are also claimed to have told him to ignore saying to the singer he had “everlasting life”.

According to the Enquirer the disease saw him lose more than five stone in weight with the source telling them: “His face was yellowish, the skin on his neck was hanging off and the tips of fingers were a brownish-yellow.”

Prince’s death last Thursday came five days after his private jet was forced to make an emergency landing after he is suspected to have overdosed on the painkiller Percocet.

Days before he was dead in a lift at his Paisley Park home in Chanhassen, Minneapolis, he had been seen making runs to a local pharmacy to pick up bags of prescriptions.

An employee at the Walgreens that served Prince him said: “We were all just shocked that he came in last night looking so beat. We said, ‘We are praying for you.’”

A day after his death Prince, 57, was cremated in a private ceremony attended by only three family members including his sister Tyka Nelson, 55.

The claims of Prince suffering from AIDS came as the Mirror learnt he was forced to return to touring in order to boost his finances after it was discovered his spending outstripped his income.

Despite his work being valued at more than £150 million he is said to have suffered "chronic money problems” for years before his death.

The star’s refusal to allow the rights to music and back catalogue to be sold placed an immense strain on his finances, sources close the singer have claimed.

Before his death the singer "consistently shut down" opportunities to fuel his finances, such as licensing his songs to be used in movies, TV shows and commercials.

A source said: “He refused to part with his art.

“He always remained true to his beliefs that his work was his own and despite lucrative offers his music was not for sale.

“To get much needed cash Prince braved the pain barrier to tour Australia earlier this year.

“You can imagine the toll a 36 hour flight would take on his body.

“Although a genius of music, he was not a genius when it came to business.”

Sources close to the star point to how his frequent impulsive shows were poorly planned and involved little promotion, meaning that while some were successful, a lot were staged at a loss.

It had been reported that Prince’s estate was worth in the region of £200 but the figure is said to have been grossly exaggerated.

One never really knows what is in a persons heart.

He may have been all those things, or he may have been a really special person, I have no idea.

Folks I know who are real musicians seem to have a lot of respect for his musical abilities. Once again, not my kind of music so I cannot say.

I can say his music did not have stuff that struck me as satanic, like some modern popular female singers. He was a devot, in some way, which meant he was searching for truth in a higher power.

He certainly had a stable of very good cute girls, some of which he married and some of which he did not. Interestingly they do have a certain look, as if he had a type, which matches most guys I know. As such I doubt he was a fudge packer or packee.

Twice divorced, one dead kid and one miscarriage might have had an effect on him, I would not be so quite to judge him harshly. His inability to form a lasting relationship might have been very painful in his waning years.

In any case it is not in our hands to judge the man...but a higher power.

This guy was a nothing, IMO. He was on cocaine and ordered it in $40,000 bundles, IMO. He was a raving homo, IMO . He had Aids and died of Cocaine IMO. You want your children to emulate this decadent? He was so doped up he should have named the song “ purple BRAIN’ . Move the heck on. RIP.

Forensics won't be back for a month or more. You know all this from what sources?

Prefacing every one of your sentences with "IMO" doesn't let you off the hook from speaking ill of the dead. Neither does your RIP.

Prine’s friend Vanity died in Feb of this year from drug use from the 1980’s. It caused kidney failure. Prince may have gotten from someone be it man or women the aids virus as there was a lot of drug use they both engaged in.

Literacy is your friend, WENDLE. If one practices it enough, the ability to comprehend what was written often improves. Literacy also provides facts; they are useful if one wants to actually know something about the subject when spouting opinions.

BTW he first name of “Prince” was ... Prince.

He lost 5 stone in weight? 5 stone is about 70 pounds, right?

I call BS right there. I’ve seen Prince in concert a bunch of times, sometimes in small venues. I was fairly close to him. He was 5’ 2” or 5’ 3” tall AT MOST, he looks like he weighed about 110, maybe 120 if he was really muscular. There wasn’t enough of him to lose 70 pounds.

BS.

Poor guy
Scared

I know from a first hand source I trust he liked pretty boys and men

Maybe he was trying to resist the impulse or he admired women or wanted to procreate

But he sure gave off gay tells to me and the person I know who saw him in action I’d never ever question her veracity

No way she’d make it up

It may have been for palliative care.

Is that how it works with Jehovah's Witnesses? They can do pain management but that's it? I really don't know much about them.

An unnamed source will not identify themselves and they "messaged friends" and somehow NE picks it up?

Well, alrighty then.

Actually, Prince was not from my era, but I respected his talent. In a later post you reference Hendrix. He is my era but is not my fav...but still an excellent musician.

I find that most artists (musicians, writers, artists, dancers, actors, what have you) are pretty tortured people. They cut off their ears, take drugs and have generally bizarre and tortured lives. It's almost like the good Lord gives them this gift but takes their common sense and stability.

I don't know that any thing you said has any validation.
Nor does anyone.

I am just happy beyond belief that I have no extraordinary talent...just a lot of stability.

Jehovah witnesses do see doctors and use medicines. It is Christian Scientists who forego doctors and medicines.

“Doctors told Prince his blood count was unusually low and that his body temperature had dropped dangerously below the normal 98.6 degrees to 94 degrees.

That statement alone makes me think that the article ain't based on all the facts. My temp averages 94 - 95 degrees. 98.6 is just a very broadly general "norm"
