While Donald Trump has claimed his former pro-abortion views are a thing of the past, some pro-lifers question his convictions on abortion, or even his knowledge of the topic, following a series of ill-advised remarks from the current GOP presidential frontrunner.
Students for Life is seeking to assist Trump in coming to a better understanding of the pro-life position by inviting him to a “remedial training” course called ‘Being Pro-Life 101.’ On Monday, the pro-life group tweeted a call for Trump to receive education on abortion issues.

“Donald Trump is clearly in need of education on pro-life issues,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life.
He potentially set the pro-life movement back decades when he declared women should be “punished” for having an illegal abortion. He has said that Planned Parenthood does “wonderful things” even though they are the nation’s largest abortion vendor and have been proven by the U.S. House of Representatives last week to have made tens of thousands in profits from selling the parts of babies they aborted. And he said he wants to change the GOP platform to reflect the three exceptions he believes in for abortion (rape, incest, life of the mother).
Hawkins went on to explain that Students for Life offers hundreds of trainings per year, and would be happy to provide Trump with his own personal training session to help him correct his views on abortion.
Someone should invite the pro-life groups to “Ethical Consistency 101.”

This is tone deaf and divisive.
We are a Nation of many people with many opinions. We need to have an honest conversation and referendum to decide where we will set the line. In no case should anyone be required to perform, assist at or pay for an abortion that is against their conscience. No profit motive can be allowed to commercialize the unborn and expose them to the horrors we have recently seen on video. Research aims do not sanitize murder and torture. Some research is never justified, other paths must be taken or eschewed.
Trump does not need to adhere to some “Pro Life” ideal definition no more than he needs to be a “conservative” according to someone’s definition. Trump thinks abortion is wrong but legal. He has vowed to defund PP if they perform abortions.
It is ridiculous to attack him for saying there must be some punishment for women who have abortions if abortions are illegal. He was not going after women he was responding to a theoretical situation in which if something is a crime there must be some consequence. Why else do girls who abandon their infants get charged but they don’t get charged if the infant never breathed in some states.
Are we? Or, are we now just all supposed to be anti-establishment, anti-liberals?
Pro life groups seem to be confused about to what extent abortion is murder. Perhaps that could be an explanation as to why their efforts have mostly not born fruit over the last 40 years.
