You dumb canuck, go back north. The rest of the world already has tariffs on our goods. China has a 27-47% tax on US autos and japan has protected everything from the USA.

FAIR TRADE is everyone has the same rate either zero or whatever you agree to, but most countries are screwing us with their existing policies.

The United States as abused wife afraid to stand up to her abuser? You gotta be kidding me...

Time to get out of this ‘marriage’.

LOL....

Man you don’t get it at all.

The USAID program basically subsidizes 80% of ag exports by offering foreign firms/countries low cost financing, so forget them doing a trade war on our ag products. (except Japan who is very protectionist towards their tiny farms and discourages US ag product imports.)

We are currently in an undeclared trade war on manufactured goods with Mexico, China, Japan, Vietnam, India, The Philippines, etc. where they lower the value of their money so as to make imports from the US unaffordable, and exports from their manufacturing cheap in US dollars. On top of that, if we happen to still have lower production costs, they tariff the hell out of our goods. I call it a trade war, but it is only one way. Maybe trade rape is more accurate.

Trump is a genius, everything he touches turns to gold. He will get very good people, the best people, and we will have the best trade deals in the world.

I don’t see the benefit in this thread. It only serves to question Trump, who is the nominee. Are you a communist? Are you part of the Hillary campaign? This type of posting needs to STOP.

I agree about Reagan. He brought us NAFTA, and the WTO. I’m not a huge fan of the WTO, but it was part of his free market ideology.

We can sell our exports to exotic locals like Kansas and Virginia. Only thing is that we may need to “re-tool” some operations to make products more in line with their needs (like clothing, shoes, and minor appliances).

Not as much to worry about as you think.

Trump will try to do this sort of thing using the pen and phone, just like Obama.

But the Congress and courts will discover that long forgotten doctrine called the "separation of powers" and put it to work.

This would be one great benefit of a Trump presidency.

How many multi-hundred-million dollar deals have you successfully negotiated, then finished below budget and ahead of schedule?

And even more important to this discussion, when did you decide that, once you grew up, you just wanted to suck? Because you really do suck.

Trump will be president next year. Deal with it.

“Exports decreased $7.5 billion to $116.2 billion and imports increased $15.1 billion to $481.9 billion.” The $22,615,700,000 increase in the merchandise trade deficit the U.S. ran with China last year was a 6.6-percent jump from the $343,078,800,000 merchandise trade deficit the U.S. ran with China in 2014.Feb 9, 2016

Take a good look at these charts and then explain to me why a trade war with China would be a problem for us.
