Gun goes off during fight over loud stereo at Kennewick apartment
Tri-City Herald ^ | 4/25/2016

A Kennewick man was arrested Monday morning after he allegedly struck a neighbor with the neighbor’s own gun, causing it to fire, following a scuffle over loud music.

The 25-year-old neighbor approached Codie Supak, 35, early that morning about the latter’s stereo, which was playing so loudly that it woke other residents in the apartment complex at 2604 W. Bruneau Place, a release said.

That’s when Supak became confrontational and started assaulting the neighbor, causing a .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol the neighbor had tucked in his gym shorts to fall to the ground.

Supak picked up the gun and pointed it at the neighbor but the scuffle continued. It was after Supak struck the neighbor in the head with the gun, causing it to fire, that he dropped it and fled into his apartment.

The neighbor picked up his gun and locked it in his car before calling police. Supak refused to open his door to officers and after they secured a warrant they broke through it and found Supak hiding in a bedroom.

Supak was booked into the Benton County jail for second-degree assault and felon in possession of or discharging a firearm.

Not even remotely close to breaking news.

I had to read the article three times to figure it out.

Looks like the loud music jerk went to jail.

When my neighbors have gun fights, I just turn the stereo up really loud.

Never use a polymer-frame gun as a club. You want something in steel.

Booger hook inside trigger guard make gun go bang.

Not so hard to understand.

That's when I spray bullet-repellent on my tin foil hat.

We haven't had a good “Kennewick man” thread in years.

Or steel/aluminum. Not steel/plastic.

I’m waiting for the 3D “printing” of Ti Alloys to hit the mainstream....

A holster would help too. That way it doesn’t fall out of your shorts when one gets into a “scuffle”.

I’ve got one of those in 9mm.

Note to self: This in not a club.

Patrick Stewart thinks it's high time!

(Kennwick Man and Stewart both agree - William's Hot Pepper Cheese on the Philly!)
