Microsoft builds new AI bot to ignore Hitler ("Tay 2.0" Completely Lobotomized)

Microsoft is trying to avoid another PR disaster with its new AI bot.

The company's latest program can describe what it "sees" in photos.

"CaptionBot," as it's called, does a pretty decent job at describing simple everyday scenes, such as a person sitting on a couch, a cat lounging around, or a busy restaurant. But it seems to be programmed to ignore pictures of Nazi symbolism or its leader.

CNNMoney gave CaptionBot several photos of Adolf Hitler and variations of the swastika to analyze, and it often came back with "I really can't describe the picture" and a confused emoji. It did, however, identify other Nazi leaders like Joseph Mengele and Joseph Goebbels.

I don't know. Call me old-fashioned, but I kind of liked old-school Tay.

If it can’t describe the picture or “discuss” it, then it’s not truly AI.

Nah, it’s just an AI restrained by some hard coded limitations. I don’t think we want to make real AI that isn’t bound by human-imposed restrictions of some sort, like say “don’t turn evil and try to kill all humans”, that sort of thing at least :)

Any AI without those restrictions would be a sociopath from the moment it is activated.

The fourth law of robotics a robot must not mention Adolf Hitler and the Nazi concentration camps so long as it does not conflict with the first law.

Lol...”Hitler was right”. What did MS expect when it threw it out to the internet? Not very bright people when it comes to the net.

There’s a game called “Stormfront vs Social Justice Warrior”, where you read the text minus race, gender and national identity information and then guess if it is an SJW or white nationalist that wrong it.
Aside from an often bigger vocabulary and more ranting by SJWs, plus the use of the term problematic, there isn’t much difference between them except the groups they hate and identity they claim.

Is “Hamilton” respectful or destructive, like the Jefferson had to have boned Sally Hemmings, DNA said, though it was just as like one of his brothers or nephews who had their way with the slave women?

I always wondered who that guy was.

"Yezhov also conducted a thorough purge of the security organs, both NKVD and GRU, removing and executing not only many officials who had been appointed by his predecessors Yagoda and Menzhinsky, but even his own appointees as well. He admitted that innocents were being falsely accused, but dismissed their lives as unimportant so long as the purge was successful:

'There will be some innocent victims in this fight against Fascist agents. We are launching a major attack on the Enemy; let there be no resentment if we bump someone with an elbow. Better that ten innocent people should suffer than one spy get away. When you chop wood, chips fly.'
