You guys never give up.

He’s been cut sevreal times. They were not ALL biased against him.

The NFL is one of the pure meritocracies in the the economy. If you suck, you don’t play. If you are good, you play.

He is a nice guy and I think the anti Christian stuff is unfair, but face it...he doesn’t have what it takes for the NFL.

Both of whom are not playing in the NFL.

True enough, but I don’t think Tebow would do worse than the cripple they had a QB last year.

The Niners got to the SB with Colin. Smith went a season and a half without throwing a TD to a wide receiver. Dumping Smith was the right move, they guy has no arm strength, can barely throw outside the numbers and can’t throw deep at all. He’s got a good head on his shoulders but no physical ability to speak of. In a perfect world they could take Smith’s brain and put it in Colin’s body, that would be a QB for the ages.

“He was a gifted athlete, but NOT an NFL calber QB”
“Ah if he only had the talent to play at the pro level”

“The Broncos were 1–4 before he became the starter, but began winning with him on the field, often coming from behind late in the fourth quarter, until they won their first AFC West title and first playoff game since 2005, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Idx5wsH6Fys

The talent was definitely there and he proved it. If he had been signed as a starting QB the next season, and given the training & practice he deserved to be, he could have become a great QB

Four teams have tried Tebow. Four teams have discarded Tebow. If the talent was definitely there then he'd be playing. He's not an NFL quarterback.

It is not so much that Elway hates Tebow, though I am certain that does have some play here. I believe it is more to do with Elway’s ego. You see he can’t go and admit that he made a mistake.

Either way, the result is the same.
Like you said, It won’t happen.

With his build,Tebow would’ve worked well as a TE and if necessary, an emergency QB.

I constantly hear that Tebow was not an NFL caliber quarterback. Yet when I go to the NFL stats and look at the 2011 post season quarterback ratings, I find that Tebow had a better rating than:

Aaron Rodgers
Ben Roethlisberger
Matt Ryan
T.J. Yates
Andy Dalton

You would think that someone who was not “NFL caliber” would not have had a good enough rating to come in ahead of other quarterbacks. Also don’t forget that he was a backup who took over a loosing team at the time.

For the NFL to allow Tebow back in he’ll have to get caught screwing hookers in a limo then smack on down in a hotel elevator and get arrested for it while proclaiming the drugs made him do it.

My point is simply that I believe there was some kind of bad blood there. I don’t know what it was. I do know that it was odd for Elway to badmouth his own quarterback after his 4th straight win and say he was looking for a qb. Elway kept it up, questioned his skillset in public, and pretty well undercut the guy.

That would NEVER have happened in an awful lot of NFL cities even if the owner wanted to dump a player. They would have just kept quiet and made a trade.

Elway was a classless jerk while Tebow was winning games for them after a miserable start to that season. As you say, Elway criticized and even badmouthed Tebow during the season when the always useful: "we'll evaluate all our players at the end of the season", was readily available to him.

Elway often said, "not my kind of quarterback" and he was never able to even be objective with Tebow. He just didn't want a QB with Tebow's skill set and acted a jerk about it.

And Tebow's popularity with the fans probably irked him.

“We reap what we sow... There are none so blind as He that will not see.”

It may be late too save his football career. Hopefully He can and will save his life.

Sad state of affairs. MOO! There is a God. Is anything too hard or Him? NO! Pray for strength, direction, and forgiveness, In Jesus name, amen.

Bad blood happens. And given how regularly the team won in spite of Tebow’s terrible performance nothing wrong with saying they were looking for a QB. There was no question of Tim’s skill set, he stinks.

Actually it happens A LOT in sports. Heck just 2 days ago the coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning said his team played so horribly Detroit probably didn’t even need to put a goalie on the ice and they better get it together. Calling your players out in the press is a common practice. Sometimes it even works. And Elway got a pretty good trade for Tebow considering he was terrible and everybody in the league knew they wanted to dump him... though that could be because the Jets were stupid and actually willing to give up draft picks for a guy that was going to be on the waiver wire in a couple of weeks.

Elway is to big to admit a mistake - I’m sorry to say.

I have never forgotten Elway being drafted by Balt Colts and refusing to go.

Some Man!

the armchair football players, those who’ve never played a down of college or higher level ball, are the ones that think tebow can’t play.

those of us who’ve played see that he can play with the best of them. there have been many quarterbacks with far less athletic talent then tebow start in the nfl.

but that’s not what makes tebow a great football player. what makes him a great football player is his heart, character and humility.

that being said, the same thing that hamstrung him in the nfl which is, imo, his bold christian evangelistic outreach on the field, is what is stopping all of them right now from calling on him. the devil just can’t have that.

it’ll take a very brave owner to sign and play tim. public christianity is the new “color line” in pro-sports and the corporate world.

thankfully, far greater is He that’s within tebow, then he that is in the world. tim will do just fine with or without the nfl.

What mistake? Since getting rid of Tebow they’ve won the division every year, made the SB twice, and won it once. Seems to have been a good decision.

I really don’t see the “vast NFL conspiracy” against Tebow.

Good QB is BY FAR the #1 desire of EVERY NFL organization. The rules have been tailored to promote the passing game (see Bill Polian’s book if you need an insider view).

I just can’t believe 32 teams would pass on a guy if he was the answer.
