A gentleman was visiting with me today and said that he was in HEB (Food store) in Austin and asked an employee sweeping the floor where the charcoal was. The young man responded, "No speak English." My acquaintance thought that was kind of odd.
He works cheap. That’s all that matters.
By itself it means nothing. Lots of people who don’t speak English can sweep floors. However multiplied by 25 million and it becomes a bigger issue.
Wait until Spanish is made the official state language. Soon the Mexican flag will be raised over your states public buildings and the American flag lowered. For the idiot white it is known as conquest.
Buena suerte!
He works cheap. Thats all that matters.

That’s all the Chamber of Commerce and their lackeys in the GOP care about.
Works cheap, which pleases the Republicans and their masters, the Chamber of Commerce.
Loyally votes Democrat, which pleases.............well, we all know who that pleases.
When I was a teenager sometimes I pretended not to speak English when I didn’t want to deal with customers. With blonde hair and blue eyes I couldn’t pass the act off using Spanish so I learned just enough Croatian to be able to rattle of a a fast string of realistic sounding babble.
LOLOL
The San Antonio newspaper ran a heart-warming story about a 96 year old woman who was going to become a citizen after living in that city for over 60 years. They had to translate her comments because she could not speak English. Never mind that the law requires one who applies for citizenship to speak English, in many parts of the US you can live your life with out it.
its common all over the country. America is quickly changing from a country, to a government whose only goal is to perpetuate itself. Who it has as its subjects doesn't really matter as long as it serves that main goal.
Would have been more significant if he was a cashier or customer service manager.
Call him a bunch of names and see how long it takes for the knife to come out.
We have a winner.
Texas history and its independent determination show that the Mexican flag will never be raised over it again.
“My acquaintance thought that was kind of odd.”
Why, what rock has he been hiding under for the last 20 years?
You assume that the Texan of today has the same spirit as the Texan of Sam Houston’s time; he doesn’t!
We had workers from Texas-Mexico up here a few years back. They were digging. Hit gas lines, blew up a few homes.
..You assume that the Texan of today has the same spirit as the Texan of Sam Houstons time; he doesnt!...
Get out of the metro areas into East Texas, the Panhandle, the area in the triangle between San Antinio, Houston , and the DFW area, anywhere West, southwest, or northwest of Ft. Worth, or any other non metro area of Texas, and you will find lots of Sam Houston Texans. That’s thousands of square miles of rebellion.
If he’s a floor sweeper, he’s probably not expected to deal with the customers. Still it would be polite of him to learn a little more than “No speak English”. I remember my ship visiting Puerto Rico in 1962 and using my poorly learned high school Spanish to show some respect. They appreciated it, even though most of them spoke English.
