Th same idiots who believe this also want a $15 minimum wage. Isn’t THAT an increase in “profits” personally???
It is what WORK is. You do a task, you get paid - that’s PROFIT.
LOL - yes, prime example...
If no then do not confront
Confront is not the right word I should have used. Question in a friendly way, is more of what I might have done.
I like people, and I am a friendly guy. I like to try to figure out what makes people tick. I would not have been confrontational, just gently questioning.
The answer is that profits enable everything else.
Bumper Stickers: Because Soundbites Matter More Than Substance.
If you care about people, you should care about profit, because profit is a measure of whether your action benefit humans or not, or simply wasting resources
Socialism is really: Because Government Matter more than People
You sound like John Galt.
There is a difference.
"Communism is man exploiting man, Socialism is the exact opposite"
To-MAY-to, to-MAH-to. Socialism is communism, but the killing hasn't started yet.
Socialism, in order to plunder, needs the boot of a fascistic government.
They never actually finish the thought, which is" "and then the poor will starve".
“Venezuela is communism not socialism”
Fidel Castro will testify:
Socialism is the Journey, Communism is the destination.
Cuba...the grouper on the reefs are the size of Volkswagen Beetles...because no one can afford a boat to go out and fish on the weekends.
Self-determinism and individual freedom, because people matter more than political ideology.
Small government, because politics attracts narcissists and corruption.
Individuality, because ultimately that’s where real diversity comes from.
Lyrics from the Ten Years After “I’d love to change the world.” He asks “where is sanity?” Thought to be wry social commentary. ;-)
Although our modern socialists' promise of greater freedom is genuine and sincere, in recent years observer after observer has been impressed by the unforeseen consequences of socialism, the extraordinary similarity in many respects of the conditions under 'communism' and 'fascism'. As the writer Peter Drucker expressed it in 1939, 'the complete collapse of the belief in the attainability of freedom and equality through Marxism has forced Russia to travel the same road toward a totalitarian society of unfreedom and inequality which Germany has been following. Not that communism and fascism are essentially the same. Fascism is the stage reached after communism has proved an illusion, and it has proved as much an illusion in Russia as in pre-Hitler Germany.'No less significant is the intellectual outlook of the rank and file in the communist and fascist movements in Germany before 1933. The relative ease with which a young communist could be converted into a Nazi or vice versa was well known, best of all to the propagandists of the two parties. The communists and Nazis clashed more frequently with each other than with other parties simply because they competed for the same type of mind and reserved for each other the hatred of the heretic. Their practice showed how closely they are related. To both, the real enemy, the man with whom they had nothing in common, was the liberal of the old type. While to the Nazi the communist and to the communist the Nazi, and to both the socialist, are potential recruits made of the right timber, they both know that there can be no compromise between them and those who really believe in individual freedom.
What is promised to us as the Road to Freedom is in fact the Highroad to Servitude. For it is not difficult to see what must be the consequences when democracy embarks upon a course of planning. The goal of the planning will be described by some such vague term as 'the general welfare'. There will be no real agreement as to the ends to be attained, and the effect of the people's agreeing that there must be central planning, without agreeing on the ends, will be rather as if a group of people were to commit themselves to take a journey together without agreeing where they want to go: with the result that they may all have to make a journey which most of them do not want at all. - F A Hayek,
The Road to Serfdom (Reader's Digest Condensed Version)
What is really says: Socialism: Because Government Matters More Than People.Socialism: Because People Matter More Than Profits
Socialism: Because People and Profits Matter More Than governmentSOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil . . . - Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)
Once recognize that socialists say society when they mean nothing other than Government, and it becomes clear:Socialism is actually nothing other than governmentism. That is, tyranny.
When I was in high school, ‘68-’72, some whipper snapper young teachers showed up composing the Social Science department, introducing us to “Humanities” courses in our suburban Chicago school. To this day, I remember knowing they had an agenda, even though I was quite naive in my young years.
One of these guys made his way up the system, becoming an administrator and eventually superintendent of the Dearborn, Michigan schools.
I looked him up online recently, and saw he had published a book of poems he had written about his life experiences as a teacher. What caught my eye most is a poem he included by his daughter, his pride and joy. Here is is:
Burst Bounty
My heart is not American
Never will it be seduced by Uncle Sam’s beard.
Nor does it swell upon hearing
ballads boasting of the land of the free
from sea to shining sea.
My nose is also not American.
It does not relish the smell of perfectly scuplted
meat patties grilling on the 4th of July.
My eyes are not impressed with the firework
displays either.
The touch of an American flag to my fingertips
does not send a prickle, or shiver,
or tingle down my arm,
unaffected is my skin by the fabric’s symbolism.
My appendix, however, is American
shamelessly excessive like Uncle Sam and
his yearly parades.
I mean, do human beings really need a
second stomach?
******
These are the teachers in the public schools, and this is the indoctrinating that has been going on for a long time. It’s sickening.
