My earliest memory of a TV show “And they’re cousins....identical cousins all the way”

Ah, phooey. Most folks don’t remember, but she had a later TV series called Hail to the Chief. Here’s to you, Patty.

Oscar for ‘The Miracle Worker’

I saw it as a kid and was stunned.

Sean Astin’s mom. RIP.

I still remember watching her shows in reruns back when Nick at Nite played the oldies.....and stayed away from the ignorant crap it plays now.

Had the honor to see Patty Duke at an event just a few years ago. She approached me and a friend and engaged us in a very friendly conversation, she was a very nice outgoing person. We discussed her tv movie I think it was “My Sweet Charlie” and what a ground breaker it was. She was great very sad she passed away.

Oh,no, not another. I’m 73 and had serious health issues last year. It’s really disturbing seeing so many in my age group suddenly dropping. Prayers up.

69 is very young!

My mom died at the same age after falling in shower Christmas Eve and never waking up!

Too young to die of non-fatal things like infections & falls!

“Duke died on the morning of March 29, 2016 at the age of 69 of sepsis from a ruptured intestine.” - Wikipedia.

How in the world did that happen? No warning?

RIP Patty Duke. I remember her in Valley of the Dolls.

Sepsis from ruptured intestine.

She battled being bi-polar for a number of years.

” I remember her in Valley of the Dolls.”

Me too. She was very good in that role.

“RIP mom of Sam Gamgee”

I like that!

RIP Patty Duke, loved her show and you’re right her son is fantastic in LOTR.

Like Olivia DeHaviland in GWTW, he makes the character better than he (she) was in the book.

‘’.. But Patty loves to rock ‘n’ roll/a hot dog makes her lose control/you can lose your mind/when cousins are two of a kind’’ RIP Patty. May you find peace at last.
