don't know what psi they run but pretty high i'm sure, then again what set it off?

did the filter get saturated enough that it finally dripped onto the engine?

was the engine off when he pulled into the pits and that's why it was burning and not sucked into the engine?

To the Melbourne race:

1. Great to see Haas get some points ($$$) early in the season.

2. Did anyone see the race leaders on screen after the restart? I sure didn’t, until the last few laps. Not once.

Vettel blew bye both Mercedes at the start and Kimi blew bye Nico after turn 1. I can understand Kimi driving by Lewis since Lewis was blocked by Nico, by what happened to Nico.

The Ferrari's just drove by the Mercedes like they were standing still.

I meant the Alonso/Gutierrez crash on lap 18 which red-flagged the race.

After the restart I did not see any coverage at all of the race leaders for most of the remaining 40 laps. That’s a lot of time to focus just on the midfield. I think the feed is from FIA and the same no matter what channel you watch.

i don'no... to me it looked like the Horses just hooked up better than the Arrows

with the way the clutches are now i think if fuel doping was an issue wouldn't wheel spin come into play?

from the video, the way Hammy was blocked by Nico it looked like it allowed not only Ferrari but RedBull to pass also

starts seemed to be problematic for Mercedes last year and maybe hasn't changed much?

but you are much more up on it than i am

maybe they are trying to show more action than the leaders front running the pack

and i think you are right that the there is one feed with the only difference being the announcers

Yeah, but the leaders are still turning fast laps that would be nice to see...racecraft and all that...and also, the sponsors putting up large money for some square inches of advertisement on those front runner cars must be pi$$ed at not getting any TV time for their money...(OK, I’ll go and cry a little for the sponsors now :-) LOL)

Seriously though, I don’t remember any races in recent history where the front runners were just ignored that much. That was what struck me.

100%... i think with all the whining about no action/boring races/same cars up front/winning had something to do with it

but no tv time for the sponsors, there will be hell to pay i'm sure

I do not know if you follow Ted Kravitz who reports for Sky F1, he does a video notebook at the races. The thought of the cost to rebuilding a Lucas MacKay fuel injection system, OUCH! It's bad enough getting a Bosch Mechanical fuel injection pump rebuilt off a Porsche or Mercedes from the 60's and 70's.

F1's Kimi Raikkonen to NASCAR in 2017?: If rumors hold any weight, the sun is setting on Kimi Raikkonen's Formula One career, and he may look to land in NASCAR. He started racing again with the Ferrari team in 2014 (after racing with them from 2007 to 2009) and has just three podium finishes in 39 races. For the last year, many have speculated that Red Bull Racing's Daniel Ricciardo has his eye on Raikkonen's seat for 2017. In the past, he raced in the World Rally Championship and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series. It's his NASCAR experience -- one race in each the trucks series and Xfinity series in 2011 -- that is fueling the latest rumors. According to Tanja Bauer of Sky Sport News, Raikkonen could end up in a seat with Stewart-Haas Racing in 2017. It's all conjecture at this point. Stewart-Haas Racing co-owner and three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup winner Tony Stewart is retiring at the end of the season and giving up his seat to Clint Bowyer. The team also employs drivers Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick and Kurt Busch. Right now there doesn't seem to be room for Raikkonen [as the team is at the max of four cars/drivers]. So if he were to join SHR, it would mean a current driver would leave.
